What a beautiful, well maintained state park. The staff was friendly and helpful! The camping area and the restrooms were kept clean! Great place to stay!

Quiet camp ground, easy to get to, nice sites, clean and ample facilities, hiking trails, downtown Savannah only a short drive. Only complaints would be; the loop road is in bad state due to tree roots, is quite narrow, and overhung in places by some quite sturdy trees. A tall motorhome or 5th wheel would need to be extremely careful - if you are over 12ft then be cautious.

Lots of amenities at this state park. Very accessible. Electricity and water at every site. Beautiful, shady, spacious sites. Plenty of showers with abundant, warm water. Less than 30 minutes from Historic Savannah. Groceries and restaurants close at hand. There's even a coffee truck, Overflow Coffee, in the parking lot of the church right outside the park entrance, opening at 7 am.

Our Scout Troop stayed in the pioneer (primitive) campsite, which was perfect for our group. The rangers and park staff were very helpful with our needs, and very happy to engage in conversation. They were all knowledgeable about the park and surrounding areas, and taught us about the natural features (and some invasive species) in the Low Country.

The premium sites were the most level. They were considered premium because they had 50 amp service and sewer hookups. Our first night we were scheduled to be in site 77 which was so unlevel we absolutely could not set up with our 30 foot travel trailer. We moved to site one and stayed five more nights. They have nice laundry rooms and showers throughout the park. The Ranger station/store/education center is very new and nice.

This is such a magical, interesting place for nature lovers! We heard and saw so many different kinds of birds, including multiple owls at our campsite. The area is a marshland and it is pristine, undeveloped habitat. Do yourself a favor and visit Wormsloe while you’re in the area!

Nice wooded State RV Park. Well maintained, clean and manicured. Fishing with required GA fishing lisence, sheltered picnic tables for larger gatherings, walking and biking paths, large parking lot, very nice camp store with gift items, clothing, local art & pottery for sale. Very helpful & friendly staff. Event calendar for scheduled nature events. Reservations recommended here many months in advance. No RV washing in this park. All animals must be on leash.

Enjoyed our time here at Skidaway Island state park. The trails are well maintained and the employees at the visitor center were very helpful. There were also multiple picnic areas and playgrounds for children. Also saw some turtles, alligators and snakes!

We just spent 2 great weeks camping at Skidaway Island. My husband and I have stayed here many times over the years, and this is one of our very favorite places. The sites are huge with plenty of vegetation between each one, so it feels pretty private. The full hook up sites must book well in advance, as everything was full when I booked 4 months ahead of time. We appreciated the laundry room facilities, and I loved the little library houses! Hiking trails are great, but when it rains they do get flooded out for a long time. Not sure why they just don't put gravel down to help matters. We used comfort station #1 for our showers. They generally were pretty clean, but are in definite need of upgrading and maintaining. We liked that we had our own toilet, shower and sink all in one private room. The lights have motion censors that don't work well at all! So be prepared to be in near darkness 5 or 6 times while showering (unless you are lucky enough to have a room with a window). It would be really helpful if they put shower caddys in each shower, so you'd have a place to put your shampoo, shower gel, etc. Also, many of the hand dryers don't work, and they don't have paper towels, so you have to use tp to dry your hands. We showered once in comfort station #2, which was much more up to date, but the shower curtains weren't big enough so all of your stuff got wet. The visitors center is very nice, and I love the gift shop! Highly recommend Skidaway Island State Park!

Skidaway Island Park is a great place to visit if you want to do some hiking. We went on a couple trails they weren't super long I think we covered little over 2 mi. Very easy to navigate very well marked. I love meandering through the Georgia woods with its big trees and little swamps. It also took us alongside the marsh which was really nice I did drive up to the visitor center which was quite impressive I've never seen a visitor center so big and so filled with really nice items I was going to talk about my park pass but the lady was quite busy. So I never did get to talk to the customer service lady But it really looks like a great campground also. I liked that it was spread out and looked pretty private very quiet. I'd love to stay here overnight with my camper van or even for a week The great place really Stop and take a look if you want a place to hike that's easy or even bite that looks like people could bike on some of the trails too again not a lot of mileage what a great place for short hikes
