Southlake RV Park

My stay was excellent. The site was reasonably level and the area was quiet. My cat escaped briefly and some of the neighbors chipped in to help get her back. I did miss not having an onsite sewer connection, but the dump site was convenient. The laundry was excellent. It was nice be able to use a credit card instead of a lot of quarters. The grounds are quite basic, but completely adequate.

Site (D2) was level and clean. Its a quiet campground as more people live there than just camp. Disappointed that there was no firepit or picnic table. The site's sewer connection was also at a horrible low angle so not easy to dump. Entryway to the campground is a hill and full of potholes..not fun when pulling in/out.

This is the second time we stayed here. It is an older campground and it tight for larger rigs but you can get around. The employees are helpful and the facilities are clean. It is close to Knoxville and other places to eat and see. However, if you are in A10 or sites close by there is a sewer lift station close by and you do get some smells.

The staff here is amazing! They are very friendly and accommodate your needs when possible. It’s very quiet at night and all of the other campers are friendly. The shower house is always clean and the laundry facilities are awesome! We love this place!!

Fantastic Location and Views, But Sites Have Their Challenges ★★★★☆ (4/5 Stars) We chose Southlake RV Park for a recent trip to visit our daughter at the University of Tennessee, and the location was absolutely perfect for that. Its proximity to downtown and the campus is a major plus. The highlight of our stay was the view from our spot (A-10), which looked directly out onto the beautiful lake. There's a huge, lovely grassy area right at the lakeshore with fire rings, which was a fantastic surprise and a great place to relax. The park is also very pet-friendly. However, the site itself presented some difficulties. It wasn't very level, which required some adjustments. The biggest challenge was the sewer connection, which was on a slight uphill grade. Emptying our grey and black tanks would have been nearly impossible without our sewer supports. The 50-amp electrical service was stable, but the water pressure was noticeably low. Navigating the park can be tricky. The roads and spots are quite tight, so you'll definitely need to bring your backing "A-game." This is understandable given the park was built in the 1980s for the World's Fair when RVs were smaller. Our only interaction with staff was with a gentleman in a golf cart who kindly showed us to our site, even though he appeared to be leaving for the day. We arrived at 4:45 PM to find the office already closed, despite the sign saying it was open until 5:00 PM and our confirmation email stating a 6:00 PM closing time. This wasn't a major issue, as our site information was conveniently left in the late check-in box for us. The park has a lot of what appear to be full-time residents in older RVs, and everyone mostly kept to themselves. Overall: We're giving it 4 stars. The fantastic location and the beautiful lakeside views made our stay enjoyable. However, be prepared for some challenges with tight spaces and potentially unlevel sites with tricky sewer hookups. We would stay again, primarily for the great location and scenery.

Very nice campground, quiet and convenient. We will definitely use this campground again when visiting family. Will definitely request camp site D1 or D2 for pull through for our trailer and convenience to entrance, office, shower and trash.

Office staff friendly. Water bib closest to my site did not work. site slightly unlevel., but it was a pull through😀 Park was quiet. Good directions given on the low bridge in the area.

I would give 4 stars, but the place definitely needs some TLC. Ripped flags, broken awning on side of office, beautiful park lamps on lake lawn that don't work - just to name a few items that need attention. Other than that, the park is quiet, the lawn by lake is pretty, and the lake (actually a river) is slowly filling back up as I understand it is lowered during the winter months. Would I stay here again - that's a maybe as it is located convenient to my family.

Was great location with short drive to downtown Knoxville for BassMaster Classic. Price very reasonable. Sites was not very level and roads are very tight if you have a big rig. Showers and bathrooms were very clean. Would be nice to add a few hangers at shower for towels and clothes! Many sites do not have sewer.

This is actually a very cute campground. It has long term and overnight accommodations. We stopped in for 2 nights on our way traveling towards Kentucky. We are full-time and needed to do laundry and take a break from this heat in their pool! Laundry rooms are immaculate and take cards or quarters. Bathrooms are very clean as well. Most of the sites have beautiful shade trees and some sites like ours have decks . The pool was awesome with Kids playing and the water was very clean. Since we are full-time, we chose this particular site because of the proximity to the laundry room and pool. Others have noted about electricity fluctuating but in our site D1, we didn't have a problem. I agree with others stating water pressure is low, but it didn't bother me. It was plenty strong enough to shower in camper, flush toilet and wash dishes...so that's all we cared about and pressure was ok for that. The "bad" so to speak... Sites aren't level, which is the case in most campgrounds but I know some people really are turned off by that ... We were able to level out camper and steps leading into camper ..note the pic of my steps and you'll understand. It's an older campground, so don't expect state of the art fancy...having said that, it's a really nice place to stay and we're definitely going to make plans to stay here again on our adventures. We paid $55 a night for full hookup (water, sewer, electric) Washers and dryers were $3 a load. Very convenient to major stores as well. Walmart is less than 15min away, gas stations less than a mile and Dollar General about 5 min away. Definitely check this place out and stay a night or two. Worth it!

This is an older RV park and it isn’t perfect, but it does the job at a good price. We were initially assigned to site B4, and first impressions were a little iffy. We absolutely loved the amount of shade this park offers, but we ran into some issues with low voltage and weak water pressure that caused a few headaches for me and my wife. The first night, we had to juggle our electric usage carefully to keep the AC and microwave from tripping things. Eventually, I decided to call and ask about it — and to their credit, the staff and maintenance crew were extremely professional, polite, and responsive. They moved us to a different site without hesitation, and we were much happier there. Voltage at the new site still wasn’t perfect, but it was within a safe range. (For reference: B4 was idling at 103V, while the new spot held around 112V. A nearby site next to B4 was running strong at 117V.) The water pressure remained low at the new site, but we were able to work around that by filling our freshwater tank and using the onboard pump, which made a big difference. Outside of the utility quirks, we really enjoyed our stay. The pool was great, and the people were extra friendly. We felt genuinely welcomed with our three kids — which matters a lot to us. If we come back, I’d try to book in a spot closer to the water or in the D section near the pool. The bathrooms were clean, though the stall doors didn’t latch properly and the showers don’t have lockable doors. That wasn’t a big issue for me, but it could be for some. I came in thinking I’d be leaving a negative review, but the staff’s willingness to help and make things right completely changed my attitude. That level of customer service is why I’d consider staying here again — just with a bit more input on which site we’d like next time.

Staff is standoff-ish; not unfriendly, but acted like I was bothering them when I stopped in. Grounds are well kept. Lots of trees and I had to make creative turns to navigate my dually and 42' fifth wheel to not hit trees/branches. Easy to gain access to from the interstate. I'd stay again if I had a smaller set up.

Good campground. Some tight roads for a 40' motorhome. Our site was on the lake. Very nice.

Nice RV park with wooded areas and several spots on the lake. We travel with 3 dogs and there were sufficient places for walking dogs and a few stations with poo bags and trash cans for disposal. There were plenty of washers and dryers for use in the office building. You could pay with quarters or your card. The pool looked nice. The water hookups by the lake seemed like they were on the wrong side, but our water hose reached. It seems like an older campground, but we prefer those to the sprawling parks where everyone is crammed together. If they do any updates in the future, I would recommend a small fenced-in area for dogs. I have one that takes FOREVER to go when he's on a leash, but will go in 30 seconds otherwise. One is still a puppy, and she really wanted to play, but I couldn't let her off leash anywhere. Also, with 3 dogs, it would be nice to be able to take them all to one place and let them do their business instead of trying to juggle all 3, or do 1 at a time. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and it was convenient to lots of stuff!!!
