Sprybay Campground & Cabins
Overview
Sprybay Campground & Cabins offers a serene and authentic retreat on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. This park is designed for travelers who appreciate a quiet, natural atmosphere nestled within the coastal forest. Unlike high-traffic commercial resorts, this campground emphasizes a connection with the outdoors, providing a peaceful base for exploring the rugged Atlantic shoreline. The property serves as a welcoming gateway for those seeking to experience the raw beauty of the province’s less-traveled paths.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the small community of Tangier, the campground is located along the scenic Marine Drive, a route famous for its winding coastal views and maritime charm. The surrounding area is defined by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and dense evergreen forests. Guests can enjoy the crisp, salty air and the soothing sounds of the wilderness. Because of its remote setting, the park boasts exceptionally dark skies, making it a spectacular location for stargazing after the sun sets over the bay.
Amenities & Park Features
The park accommodates a variety of setups with its selection of serviced and unserviced sites. RV travelers will find sites equipped with 30-amp electrical hookups and water, while those looking for a more traditional stay can utilize the cozy on-site cabins. Essential facilities include clean washrooms, hot showers, and laundry services to ensure a comfortable stay. For recreation, the park offers wooded hiking trails that allow guests to explore the local flora and fauna without ever having to leave the property.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is never far away, as the park is a short drive from Taylor Head Provincial Park, which features some of the most beautiful white sand beaches and rugged hiking loops in the region. The area is also a premier destination for paddlers, serving as a jumping-off point for the 100 Wild Islands archipelago. For a dose of local culture and history, visitors can spend an afternoon at Memory Lane Heritage Village, an award-winning living history museum that depicts coastal life in the 1940s.
Who This Park Is Best For
This campground is ideal for nature enthusiasts and coastal explorers who prefer a rustic and tranquil environment over a bustling resort. It is a perfect fit for RVers who enjoy a slower pace of travel and want easy access to world-class kayaking and hiking. If you are looking for a traditional maritime camping experience that focuses on the great outdoors and scenic beauty, Sprybay Campground & Cabins provides the perfect setting for your Nova Scotian road trip.

This place was great- we stayed for one night in a tent, but the sites were grassy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They let us in after hours which was greatly appreciated by our too spontaneous group. Pet friendly was an added bonus. Bathrooms were clean and they even had a pool- although it was too cold for us to use.

A hidden gem along the East shore, with great access to Taylor Head Provincial Park trails and beaches, and the neighbouring town of Sheet Harbour with a great ice cream stand. Loved our stay here, spacious campsites, the kids enjoyed the pool and swings and slide as well. Perfect for stargazing at night. The hosts were very helpful and a pleasure to meet! So much more to do in this area than we realized coming in. Definitely coming back to this campground to explore this area more.

I stayed there August 2021 and I am booked back again. The sites are large. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. Taylor Head beach and walking trails are near by. If you need a place that is going to keep your kids entertained, this not the place for you. Think of it as a provincial park camp ground, without the nagging about noise. And the pizza is REALLY GOOD! I love it there!

We did not camp here, but got a great sandwich at the convenience store. If you need lunch this is a good place to stop.

One of the best camping experiences I've had in a while. I stayed in one of their cabins for the weekend it was very clean and had a mini fridge to keep food in. I spent a good chunk of time in the pool which was very nice. The bathrooms were the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground and you can tell that the whole park is very well maintained. The owners and some of the nicest people. They were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome! Absolutely loved all the dogs around🥰🐶 Couldn't recommend this park enough!
