My wife and I set a goal this year to visit a state park every month and go camping. St. George Island State Park has been our favorite so far. Each park has its own charm, but this one truly stands out. There is real privacy, the beach is close, the trails are great for running or biking, and the views are incredible. You feel a genuine connection with nature here. We stayed three days and are already planning to return every year, and next time we’ll stay longer. If you’re looking to relax and disconnect, this is the perfect place.

What a stunning park, beaches were so beautiful the sand so white! The concert around the restrooms had sea animals stamped into it. How cute! Not busy at all, the Nature trails were amazing, so many verify plants and animals. It felt like we were the first ppl to visit! So peaceful, and the campground was laid out to give each site privacy. Very clean and well maintained.

Me and the family spent 2 relaxing nights at SGI state park campground. The campsights are super nice with some shade from trees and foliage that provides some privacy from neighbors. The beaches were pristine with very few people and lots of wildlife. We caught some fish and eating size crabs and saw stingrays and dolphins. This place is a best kept secret on Florida's Forgotten Coast.

One of the best state parks we have experienced. Unusual for any campground, the campsites were mostly separated by trees and shrubs, giving a feeling of privacy even though the sites were as close as most. Each site also has posts with rings for hammocks, something we had never seen before. Each site was raked between guests, and the fire pit was spotless. There is a nature (and fitness) trail that leaves from the campground and continues for over 2 miles. The only disappointment was that pets are not allowed on the beach in the park, but that policy is clearly stated. We just missed it. Otherwise, it is a perfect place to stay for a nice vacation.

White sandy beaches. Trails to explore, wildlife to enjoy. A great place to visit. Clean restrooms, handicap parking, picnic tables and plenty of room for the kids to play. Lots of shells to collect as a souvenir.

This state park is simply beautiful. The beaches are prestine and the night sky is spectacular. We were there in November and saw a variety of birds, butterflies, and wildflowers. We stayed at the campground for five days and had a great experience. The trails around the campsite were well mantained. The one leading to the Bayside was a favorite that we walked many times. A bench near the water was a great place to listen to the birds in the early morning and look at the stars at night. The only word of caution I would give is while pets are allowed in the campground and on the trails, they are not allowed on the beaches at all. And it's impossible to walk them down the sides of the road in the park. The sandspurs are no joke. Outside of the campground and off the trails, they are everywhere and they are vicious.

One of the best beaches in the country. 9 miles of undeveloped beach. We spent two weeks there in mid November. The weather was perfect and the tourist count is way down.

This is a beautiful state park. You drive 3 or 4 miles to the two Pavillion areas (with restrooms). There are also small parking areas throughout where you can access the beach. We only visited for a half hour or so on a road trip, as we have an annual pass. Gorgeous views, and nice quiet; enabling you to enjoy beach soundscapes. Quite a few picnic Pavillions, and accessible parking and amenities.

Fabulous white sand beach, clear water, most people pick-up after themselves keeping the beach clean, nice facilities.
