St. Vrain State Park is a wonderful location to spend time. I enjoyed camping here by one of the many lakes. The restroom on-site was convenient and clean, with showers. I didn't have to step very far away to take pictures of Osprey dive-bombing into the pond, or herons trying to blend in with the water.

St. Vrain State Park is such a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy Colorado’s great outdoors! The views are gorgeous, the ponds are peaceful, and it’s the perfect place for fishing, walking, or just unwinding with family. The campgrounds are clean and well-kept, and the wildlife sightings make it even more special. As a local real estate agent in Northern Colorado, I love exploring parks like this and sharing them with clients who want to experience the best of our area. Whether you’re camping for the weekend or stopping by for a quick picnic, St. Vrain State Park is the perfect local getaway! 🌳🎣☀️

It’s a beautiful park, offering campers lake views with the Rockies in the distance. The electrified sites are large and well spaced out. There are good walking trails. Water pressure at the dump station is good. If only the park were not next to I-25! You don’t even hear it so much outside, but inside the rumbling gets on your nerves, maybe because you don’t expect the noise. The upside: It’s a prime location for doing business in Denver’s northern suburbs and a nearby gas station sports some of the cheapest prices we have seen ($2.53 late Sept 2025)

Great place, kinda close to the interstate so you can hear the traffic going by. Several ponds to fish in. One loop has a full hookup, so that's nice for longer stays. Easy on and off from I-25. Grocery stores and food choices are close by. A day pass is required to enter and fish. Restrooms have showers.

The campsites surround several ponds, as in many are right on the water. It’s fairly sheltered, so paddling, fishing and swimming are all fun here. I’d advise water shoes due to rocks and mud and the potential for a lost fish hook. The water is pretty green, but it’s been very hot and there’s been no rain for a while, so perhaps that’s why. We’ve seen rabbits, tons of dragonflies, butterflies, fish and many birds: osprey, turkey vultures, pelicans, Canada geese, cormorants and great blue heron. The campsite had a nice, level concrete slab, sheltered picnic table and fire ring. We’ll definitely be coming back!

St. Vrain State Park is a great place to de-winterize your camper and kick off the summer season. It’s beautiful, super clean, and has plenty of bike paths. We enjoyed seeing kids riding bikes and lots of people out fishing and having a great time. A huge drawback is its proximity to I-25, the road noise is constant. If you go, try to book a site as far from the interstate as possible. We’ll definitely return but will look for a quieter spot next time.

Tye staff was friendly and the campsite was very clean. Its next to I-25 so you hear the traffic bit that is to be expected based on its location. There is more wildlife here that I expected. Fishing is ok, the pond is was at had a lot of alge so you had to lean the hook regularly. I mostly used spinners. I caught 2 stripped bass in about a total of 2 hours fishing. I put them back for later. Its not the mountains, but a nice close place for a short getaway. A big plus was the vault toilets were clean and did not smell. Steak over fire is the best!!

Experiencing the great outdoors through camping is an absolute delight, especially when it’s conveniently located near a suburban area. After residing in the breathtaking state of Colorado for almost thirty years, I recently stumbled upon an incredible camping destination that I just can’t keep to myself. The particular spot we decided on was exceptional, offering full hookups, which made our stay not only comfortable but also hassle-free. The amenities were impressive; the showers and restrooms were impeccably maintained, reflecting a level of care that ensured all campers could enjoy a clean and pleasant experience. If you’re searching for a straightforward, swift getaway that doesn’t require extensive planning, yet still provides a chance to escape the daily grind, this campsite could be exactly what you’ve been yearning for. In addition to the convenient facilities, one of the highlights during our stay was the mesmerizing sunset that painted the sky with brilliant hues of orange, pink, and purple. Witnessing such natural beauty each evening felt like a reminder of the magic that nature has to offer, making it a truly memorable retreat. Whether you’re an experienced camper or someone looking to dip your toes into the world of outdoor adventures, this hidden gem near the suburbs might just be the perfect spot for your next adventure.

The booth workers and the resources officer were extremely helpful. We ended up having vehicle issues during our 1 night stay. The booth workers gave us some great recommendations for the area on taking my truck to a good ford dealership. The fish and wildlife officer stopped by and was helpful on keeping the camper parked longer than booked. The freeway is noisy, but it’s I-25…..I’m not sure what other people expect there. If you’re stopped near a busy interstate….its gonna be noisy. They had nice trails to walk and I enjoyed watching the Prairie Dogs near the entrance. (I’m from the Midwest and it was my first time seeing them 😊.) The restroom I used was a vault toilet. Compared to the ones I’m used to in Michigan….these were clean and smelled as good as they can. Overall, a great experience and thank you for the help!

The park has a number of ponds for fishing and there are walking trails throughout. There are coverings over the picnic tables which is wonderful. The park is quiet as far as campers but the freeway noise is a negative. The restrooms are clean. Dogs welcome on leash.
