Stagecoach Trails RV Park Julian, CA | Desert Camping

This campground is a hidden gem. It’s only a 3 min drive from the highway, compared to the longer trip into Julian. For just $17 you get a campsite and a giant, refreshing ice cream cone that feels very well deserved after a long day.

The first person you’ll meet is Horst, a charming, helpful, and clearly someone with a song in his heart and a tap in his toe. Mike, the manager, keeps the joint running smoothly. Both go out of their way to help exhausted travelers feel comfortable and safe.

The bathrooms are clean, the free pool and showers are refreshing, and laundry is reasonably priced at $3.50 a load. The store is surprisingly well stocked too; dehydrated meals, string cheese, frozen bean burritos, wool socks, USB adapters, pretty much anything you might need. Oh and fre e WiFi.

I highly recommend this place for PCT hikers or any fellow traveler.

This desert oasis is really one of a kind. Fortunately I live just around the corner. It's so nice to get out over night and not be too far away from home. Now the important parts about this place. Bathrooms with showers are spotless. Very clean at all times. Also the little country store out front has got everything you'll need for a quick little get away.

Stayed here two nights. We strangely had the place all to ourselves, which is odd since it should be their high season, but I'm not complaining! Everything is clean and nicely maintained. Lots of amenities, like every spot has water, power, and sewer. And free wifi. Lighting at night is all low directional to avoid adding to light pollution, which I appreciate. Lots of stars at night! The area is quiet and beautiful. I would go back 100%

I stayed in the San Felipe kitchen/bedroom/living area suite, which you can rent separately or bring your extended family and pair with the adjoining two rooms!  Every time I stay here, I notice another new well-crafted detail just in this one room!  Then you go out and explore the rest of the campground and find even more! Stagecoach Trails is so beautiful this time of year. If you don't want to camp and are looking for a restful desert get-away, there are many options just like this room at Stagecoach Trails that you can spend a cozy night in instead.

Very nice except all the toilets back up and they don’t keep the toilet paper stocked. Bring your own toilet. Really a bad situation for an event when many of us have small rigs with no toilets. I didn’t see any rigs in our event with hookups but as a former sewer contractor I’m sure the sewer would do just like their facilities and overflow into rigs.

Mike and Josh are amazing! I am hiking the PCT and after 77 miles this was a perfect place to recoup and relax before getting on the Trail again. They assisted me in all my needs and I couldn't be more thankful for this place. Also if you are long distance PCT thru hiker you get a free ice cream which was incredible.

As a PCT hiker, this was a perfect little find for us during our travels. The 2 person cabin was everything we could need to stay out of the wind. Not to mention hot showers, laundry, easy food (including resupply) and great milkshakes! Some of the best hospitality I’ve had in a while!!

Food I bought here tasted funny, when I checked it it was past it's best before date by 3 years!!! Be very careful buying food here or avoid if possible.

Surprised to find this location having so many awesome options after we were looking for a grocery store and finding only convenience stores. It's on the PCT so it makes sense that it has a lot of camping things, but even mini laundry detergent and other items. Rad! My son really enjoyed the pizza. Wood bundles were expensive-ish but very convenient so worth it. Nice staff too!

I’ve had the privilege of camping at many different campsites throughout San Diego county and this was the worst one ever the store at the campsite closed I don’t even know where to start on describing this campsite bees were in the pool constantly swarming the pool dying in the pool. The temperature was 110 there were no activities except an old basketball and an old Pickleball. The campsite itself was a Ghost Town. It could’ve held over 100 people and there were two myself and another camper having my grandson with me I would not recommend this campsite. The store at the campsite would close at five and the three days we were there two of the three days the store was not open at all, I’ve never been to a campsite like this ever I have no idea where those four star reviews Came from, but this is no way of forest star campground

Total downgrade for this place. Used to be 5 stars. Some of the staff does not understand customer service.
