SO DISAPPOINTED! I had a reservation at Sugar Sands and called well in advance—about 40 days prior—to cancel a 3 night stay due to a medical issue. I provided ample notice and understand that unforeseen circumstances happen. We called other campgrounds and they were very understanding and offered full refunds or minimal fees for cancellations. Unfortunately, Sugar Sands refused to issue any refund at all, keeping our FULL payment (not just a fee or deposit) despite the significant lead time. It was VERY disappointing to see such a lack of flexibility. It appears they are likely to re-rent the site to another guest, effectively making double the profit, which adds to the frustration. Overall, this experience was disappointing and serves as a warning to others considering a stay. BEWARE!

We had to cancel our reservation at Sugar Sands RV Resort with plenty of notice due to a legitimate medical reason — not a last-minute whim. Despite explaining the situation, they refused to offer any kind of refund or even a partial credit. No flexibility. No empathy. Just “policy.” What makes this even more frustrating is that we had no trouble canceling other campgrounds during the same timeframe. Those places charged a reasonable cancellation fee and moved on like decent businesses do. Sugar Sands, on the other hand, chose to keep every penny. Let’s be honest: the site will be put right back on their availability to be re-rented, meaning they’re more than happy to collect double money for the same spot while offering nothing in return to customers dealing with real medical issues. This experience showed a complete lack of customer service and basic human consideration. If you’re looking for a campground that treats people fairly when life happens, look elsewhere. I would never book here again and would strongly caution others before handing over their money.

We stayed a week in Seashore 1 tiny house, Dec 29-Jan 4. House was very comfortable. Great location and nice amenities. Easy to get to and from beaches at both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, and Gulf State Park bicycle trail.

We could not be happier with Sugar Sands. Conveniently located. Quiet park. Friendly staff and neighbors. So clean and well kept. Love all the activities. This is our first visit but not our last. Just overall beautiful resort.

The perfect RV Resort. Probably the best in the Orange Beach, Gulf Shores region. I almost don't want to make this review because I don't want others to know about this place, but Sugar Sands earned it and deserve good reviews.

Visited a family member here and was very impressed with the quality of the park and its amenities. Weather was beautiful and the pool was super clean and warm. We stayed in the smallest tiny house and the owners and staff were so kind to us. Its so close to the beach and there is a ton of great food just a rideshare away. If you're in Gulf Shores and need to book a place for a week try these folks, their tiny houses are so nice.

This is one of the nicest and cleanest campground / resorts I've been to (I travel often for work). The staff here is awesome, and the guests are just as great. We had an emergency while here leaving me to tend to my kids and the emergency. The staff came right over to help take care of my kids while I dealt with the emergency. Many of the guests also came right over offering to help with anything they could. The grounds are well kept, All of the sites are concrete and flat, nice landscaping all around. They have a wonderful pool, and fitness center, clean and working laundry room.

Can’t say enough good things about Sugar Sands. From the start of booking all the way to the end of our stay everything was fantastic. Staff is super accommodating and just a pleasure to work with. The grounds are well kept. The bathrooms are super clean and fresh. The have a great rec room and little store. We can’t wait to go back. Awesome RV park. Bath house was the cleanest we have ever seen! Laundry room was great. Rec house had small library. Clean and spacious spots... a short drive to Foley and gulf shores. It was a great experience! Wonderful staff.

Beautiful, clean, friendly…just a few words that describe this pristine resort for RVers!! We stayed eight days, and truly was not ready to leave! Close to everything, yet situated on a quiet property. This is our go-to place while in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

We initially opted to stay at Sugar Sands because our daughter was playing softball, but we didn’t know on which fields. Sugar Sands is centrally located to Foley, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and it had the amenities we needed, so we booked. However, we will book again for many additional reasons. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the bathhouse was clean and in good repair, the pool was very nice and the splash pad looked like a lot of fun for the littles and the park was beautiful and well maintained. The Rec room is very nice and a great place to spend time if the weather is bad or you want to get together with your neighbors to eat and play games. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Carrie and Anne, for being awesome!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend and it is so stinking cute! It was our first ever weekend in our 5th wheel and we loved it. The staff was super nice and helpful and the resort was cute and quiet! The guests were nice and friendly also. Great pool area!

This resort would have easily scored a five star review. It was clean, very large sites for every camper. Nice pool, very big and clean bath house and laundry. Great location, with golf courses and restaurants very close and fifteen minutes from the beach. The reason I gave it a three was because of the way one of our group of five families was treated. All of us made our reservations on the same day in February. We all had a site very close to one another. The day we arrived their site had been changed to a spot on the other side of the campground. They gave them no advanced notice and no explanation. They also gave them no remedy to help them get closer to us. As nice as the campground is, this is what we will remember the most.
