Beautiful campground. Only a 4 because reservation system is a little wonky and power plus does not have water. This is a place you must use your internal water tanks, which they have potable water fill stations in multiple places. They do charge a park fee on top of the camping fee, which is $7 for Nebraska residents and $14 for non-residents. The sites themselves are very nice with lots of trees.

No wake boating, canoes welcome. Great fishing. Trails are awesome, new ones added recently. Shower house and playground. Swimming and all the things. This is my home base, so a natural favorite.

Visited this lake to do some fishing with my grandson. We had a good time and caught several pan fish. The lake is seeing a lot of seaweed/ moss growth near the shorelines and in shallow water. Very glad we had Jon boat to get out and explore. Nice fish cleaning station on the North side. There is a more primitive boat ramp on North side, better ramps are on South side but this does require a NE State Park permit to access.

Very nice facility. FYI, if there's a "reserved" sign on a campsite it doesn't mean it's reserved that day. Check with the host. The swimming area has a lot of algae, but this was in July when we visited.

First, the good. The campsites were big and well taken care of. The bathrooms at Muskrat campground are primitive but clean. The main side has big bathrooms with coin-operated showers complete with hot water. The place is super quiet, and pets are welcome. Be advised that there are no park attendants other than the camp hosts who are not employees and dont manage reservations. Now the bad. The lake is low, and looking at the entrance, it's intentional. The water is very still, and mosquitoes and flies are abundant, so take spray. There is/was a beach, but now it's a sandbox. Whoever decided the water level needed to be this low really knocked down the appeal of the park. As I said earlier, the showers are coin-operated at 1.50 for five minutes. There is a change machine out front however its cash only. There are no water or sewer hookups at the campsites. There is a dump station all the way inside the campground, but it is on a hill, so you will not get a complete empty. Overall, it was a fun place to camp, but a lousy place for kids to swim and fishing was almost nonexistent.
