A Hidden Gem at French Lake 🌲🚐 From the moment we arrived at Sunbury Oromocto Park & Campground, we knew we’d found something special. The owners, Danica and Dalton, are two of the friendliest and most welcoming hosts we’ve ever met on our travels. They’ve recently taken over from Danica’s grandparents and are clearly pouring their hearts into continuing the family legacy while bringing fresh energy and exciting plans for the future. The grounds are immaculately kept—everything feels peaceful, shaded by trees in a lot of areas, and wonderfully cared for. The washrooms are spotless, which always makes a world of difference when camping. Being right on the shore of French Lake is an added bonus—there’s something so calming about waking up to that view. What really sets this place apart is the genuine atmosphere Danica and Dalton are cultivating. They talk about creating “a haven where genuine positivity, connection with nature, and cherished memories flourish”—and it truly feels that way. Whether you’re here for quiet relaxation, or hoping to catch one of their future events celebrating local art, music, and entrepreneurship, it feels like a place that’s only going to get better and better. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already planning our next stay. Tips & Tricks • Bring a few levelling blocks—some pitches could use a little adjustment. • The mosquitoes at dusk are fierce (bring spray or plan a cosy campfire when the sun dips). • Take time to enjoy the lakeshore—it’s the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening wind-down.

This was our first time camping with our three kids and dog. Everyone since then has begged us to go back. There is so much for the kids to do and explore. The owners are amazing and some of the most friendly people we have met. They go over and above to make sure you are taken care of while there. They have a cute little sweet and ice cream shop that our family enjoyed while staying. We can't wait to go back the beach is perfect for little ones and sandy on the feet.

Stayed here for two nights with some friends and we had an absolute blast! We had a beautiful site right on the water, very little bugs. We had the best time playing bingo, being on our floaty in the water and meeting other campers. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Very nice and affordable place to stay. Owners are fabulous and very accommodating. Very quiet and dark at night to sleep. They work hard at keeping the grass cut and very clean. I highly recommend this campground.

Just spent our first couple of nights camping in years and so glad we chose this place local to us. Danica and Dalton were so hospitable and friendly each time we ran into them. Our kids loved their sweet shop and ice cream. For a small campground, everything is within walking distance and was great for our kids who made lots of friends too. Our favorite place was the lake. The boys enjoyed fishing, tossing the ball for the dog, combing the beach, and the warm water for swimming. We will definitely be back to camp or just to enjoy the beach on a day pass.
