Susanville RV Park

Overview

Susanville RV Park offers a reliable and organized environment for travelers exploring the northeastern corner of California. Known for its well-maintained facilities and easy accessibility, this park serves as a bridge between the high desert and the Sierra Nevada mountains. It provides a peaceful atmosphere that appeals to both short-term visitors passing through and those looking for a stable base camp to discover the natural beauty and history of Lassen County.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the outskirts of town, the park provides a scenic backdrop of rolling hills and wide-open northern California skies. Its proximity to major transit routes makes it an ideal stop for those navigating the transition between Reno and the Pacific Northwest. The surrounding landscape features a unique blend of sagebrush plains and pine-covered peaks, offering a sense of seclusion while remaining conveniently close to local dining and supply shops in the heart of Susanville.

Amenities & Park Features

Travelers will find a range of practical features designed for modern RVs, including full hookups with 50-amp service. The park is noted for its level, paved sites that accommodate even the largest motorhomes with ease. Guests have access to reliable high-speed Wi-Fi and cable television to stay connected during their stay. On-site facilities include clean restrooms, private hot showers, and a modern laundry room, while the designated pet area ensures that four-legged companions have a dedicated space to stretch their legs.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts are perfectly positioned to explore the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail, which is famous for its scenic hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking opportunities along the Susan River. A short drive leads to the stunning waters of Eagle Lake, known for its world-class trout fishing and summer boating. Additionally, the park serves as an excellent gateway to Lassen Volcanic National Park, where visitors can witness hydrothermal activity and dramatic volcanic landscapes just a short distance from their campsite.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an exceptional choice for big-rig owners who prioritize easy navigation and paved surfaces over a rustic or primitive forest setting. It is ideal for retirees and families looking for a safe, quiet environment with dependable utilities and modern comforts. Because of its strategic location near the junction of major highways, it is also a top pick for long-distance travelers needing a high-quality rest stop that offers more amenities than a standard roadside park.

Stopped here passing thru and had a slide malfunction that shut us down for 2 weeks waiting on parts. Keri and Amanda in the office were amazing in working with us. We were unable to move because our slide was stuck out and they moved other reservations to accommodate our situation. The park is so peaceful, pretty and well maintained. This has become one of our favorite stops!

Strange place actually asked me about my vehicle. I don’t know what’s up with California, but this is the strangest state when it comes to rving well I’m not coming here and you shouldn’t either. You’re sitting there asking strange questions. I have never had one person asked me what am I driving people? I’m not broke. I got money and I’m certainly not going to you.

Sites were vere nicely spaced. Restrooms were very clean! Location is well off the highway. Park is low-lighted throughout so walking you pet is easy after dark.

The park is clean with level concrete drive thru slots. All have a patch of grass with a table. Some have mature trees that give good shade. Daily there was maintenance guys working on the place, landscaping etc. It's close to everything. I recommend it.

We stayed at Susanville RV Park from January to June 2025 and had a really positive experience. The park is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Keri, the General Manager and Co-owner, goes out of her way to make sure guests feel comfortable—she cares alot about the park and it shows! Although we mostly used the laundry facilities during our stay, they were always spotless, and easy to use, which made a big difference for us as we are a family of four. We would definitely recommend Susanville RV Park to anyone looking for a comfortable and accommodating place to stay in the area!
