This family-oriented destination in Decatur provides a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the hustle of city life. The park is characterized by its heavily wooded landscape, which offers a sense of privacy and a close connection to nature that many modern resorts lack. It serves as a popular summer home for seasonal residents and a welcoming spot for transient travelers seeking a traditional outdoor atmosphere.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the heart of Cass County within Southwestern Michigan's famous fruit belt, the park sits just a short distance from the village of Decatur. The surrounding geography is defined by rolling farmland, lush local orchards, and dozens of sparkling inland lakes. This scenic lakeside setting provides immediate access to water recreation, while the dense canopy of mature trees throughout the grounds ensures plenty of natural shade and a cool breeze during the warm summer months typical of the Great Lakes region.

The park is well-equipped for comfortable stays, featuring full hookup sites that accommodate a variety of RV sizes and configurations. Guests have exclusive access to a private sandy swimming beach and dedicated boat docking facilities, making it easy to spend the day on the water. On-site facilities include well-maintained bathhouses, laundry services, and a community game room. For active recreation, the park provides a playground, basketball courts, and horseshoe pits to keep families engaged and active throughout their stay.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park borders, the region is famous for its agritourism and local wineries, particularly in the nearby town of Paw Paw. Visitors often spend their days fishing for bass and panfish on the lake or exploring local farm markets for fresh Michigan blueberries and peaches. A short drive takes travelers to the majestic shores of Lake Michigan, where the towering dunes and coastal towns of South Haven and St. Joseph offer iconic lighthouses, boutique shopping, and expansive public beaches for a day trip.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for family vacationers seeking a traditional summer lake camp atmosphere where children can safely play and swim. It is also a perfect match for boating and fishing enthusiasts who value direct water access and a place to moor their craft during their visit. The questions to this was a little off. This is a beautiful RV park, with a beautiful lake. Well maintained and love the fact that before you enter you have to know the lot number of who you visiting..makes me feel safe

Nice campground. Clean, well run, friendly staff. Located on a nice lake with beach and roped off swimming area. Only negative is that water takes a very long time to get warm in the pay showers, and would like to see the restrooms updated.

Started camping here back in the 70's. Got married and had kids and took a chance to see id it was still around. Now we bring our kids here. We pray this camp ground will be around a very long time!

Very nice campground off the beaten path with a nice lake to boot! Nice size campground with many seasonal residents. Which is a great deal, by the way! Check it out yourself if interested in a lakeside cottage (RV) of your own. All sites are full hook up with picnic tables and fire rings. There is a laundry room, nice playground and kayaks to rent for a low fee. The lake is called "Lake in the Woods". If you are looking for a nice place with easy in and out and many sites that fit big RV's, check them out!

Nice place, kids not running everywhere, seems well kept up, kinda in the middle of nowhere. All the people we talked to in our area were really nice. I see some older post talking about management treating them badly, I have talked to the owner when we signed in and he has only had it a couple years and is doing ongoing work to keep making it nicer, nice guy and you should not hold old management or owners against him, great experience.
