Tinnemaha Creek (Inyo County Park)

Quiet area with a stream close by making for a relaxing ambiance of white noise. Views from everywhere. Just beware of the numerous cow manure pies. Very small area of service for T-Mobile, though slow if able to find. Plenty of room for large RV's. Pit toilets and dumpsters available. Easy campground to access, though stream sees severe fishing pressure. No sign of any campground officials during my 3 days. Northeastern part of park experiences to the right sees frequent commercial truck traffic passing through that area.

Great place. Super clean and nice. Was easy to pay for and very clear directions and printed out ticket to put onto the pole. Very quite and serene.

Tinnemaha camp grounds in an absolutely gorgeous spot to get away from the city, the campsite does not have beds, electricity or any other "hotel amenities" you might expect, come ready to park and set up camp! If you're coming with a group, Tinnemaha is perfect, the creek is perfect for cooling off after hiking & baking in the sun! Definitely worth a desert visit! 🏜

I don't know how to use the "rooms" or "service" stars option as this is just a campground but we came here and just used the area for the day and absolutely loved it. It is super remote and there was only one other person in the entire camp when we were there and we never saw them. We just saw their RV. There were some big trucks that utilize the main road but they didn't interfere with us at all. It is very quiet and has a wonderful stream running through it that is absolutely full of trout! Super cool... We will absolutely be going back!

A nice little campground just a couple of miles from 395. It’s a dry camp with a creek running through it that has vault toilets and trash dumpsters. Fee is currently $14.00 a night (10/2023). No potable water, electric or dumps. We’re here in October and the mosquitoes are relentless. Didn’t see any trout in the creek but if they’re there, they should be eating well. The creek is overgrown in many places but still looks like a motivated fisherman with waders could challenge the stream’s occupants. The campsites are clean for the most part and each have a fire ring with picnic table. We did a drive up, scout and book to ensure the site was reasonably level and accommodating. There’s a couple dozen sites to choose from, most of them nice. Also noteworthy is the babbling of the creek. Great white noise for sleeping, meditating or watching Monday Night Football outside. Just wear bug spray and don’t forget your ears! As what is seemingly becoming commonplace, there were several nice sites marked as “reserved” yet unoccupied days into their reservation. I’m guessing people decide not to go and skip canceling their reservations. We spent the week here pretty much alone which is sad because Reserve America shows it supposedly 1/3rd booked. I’d stay here again!

this is an amazing gem! Warm weather next to snow-capped mountains - bliss! I was here in beginning of June & the weather was PERFECT - a sharp contrast from the Santa Cruz mountains I just come from where I was freezing! the evenings were so incredibly pleasant & while the sun did beat down during the day, it was time to just hang out in a shade structure whether it's your own or under some of the big trees by the river! (bring a hammock to hang by or over the river!) (you can also fish for trout!) I will definitely come back & I'm told it's very easy to drop in without a reservation as the place is not very well known.

Great place to stop. I would avoid holiday weekends, or watch the amount of reservations. When we went had tons of atv's and dirt bikes dusting out camp. People driving in camp like they are on the track. Other then that had a great stay.
