Tom Sawyer's RV Park is a great place to stay, especially if you're visiting Memphis or exploring the surrounding areas. Its location is superb, sitting right on the banks of the Mississippi River and just a short drive from Memphis’s main attractions. The convenience of being close to the city made our trip much easier and more enjoyable, as we could quickly access all the sights and activities Memphis has to offer without any hassle. The staff at Tom Sawyer’s RV Park truly exceeded our expectations. They were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. One of the standout moments was when we had a package delivered after we had already checked out. The staff was very accommodating and took extra care to ensure FedEx could pick up our package. Their willingness to go above and beyond to help us made a big difference and truly showed their commitment to excellent customer service. As for the facilities, the bathrooms have a rugged charm—definitely no-frills, but they are clean, warm, and fully functional. They get the job done and were perfectly adequate for basic needs. Overall, Tom Sawyer's RV Park provided a comfortable, convenient, and friendly environment that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Memphis area and looking for a place to stay by the river.

I would give this a 3 1/2 to 4 stars if it weren’t for the laundry and bathroom facilities and needing repair. Looks to have a lot of FT RVrs. Mostly workers. Safe and staff is very friendly. Access is a bit inconvenient and it requires driving through some industrial and some rough neighborhoods . Follow staff directions to avoid. Level lots, some concrete. some are gravel. If it rains, it could be fairly muddy. Prices range from $60 with the concrete pad down to $34 with just a dirt pad. Laundry is free however it is in a dilapidated building upstairs. Bathroom is one step above an outhouse, but it does have running water. It definitely needs some maintenance. There is a lot of green space for walking a dog. I would not consider this family friendly. We stayed in space too, and it was adequate for a one nighter. It was quiet. Fishing is probably amazing. It’s right on the water. It’s very wooded lots and private. We got up and headed over to Mitchell’s breakfast burritos and they were amazing. It’s a few miles down the road.

Ok first the 30 amp on site 5 didn’t work. We had a 50 amp connector and had power for the night. The north shower in the shower house did not drain the south one worked fine. I’ll call them tomorrow on my way home and let them know. Did not use Any laundry facilities. Otherwise it was clean and quiet. Nice view of the Mississippi River. T mobile is a little slow. I’ll be back.

Our first time at Tom Sawyer and we weren't impressed with the campground. Did love being on the Mississippi River to see the barge traffic. The campground could be a real gem if some extra work went into it. I understand that there can be periodic flooding of the RV park from the Mississippi River but when not flooded it was a disappointment. Pride in ownership sure lacks at the entrance. Even though there were signs leading into the campground, the condition of the road and especially the lack of care at the stone entrance made us wonder if the place was safe. Sites were not groomed. Our site under the trees had lots of downed branches and rocks on the concrete slab and in the site. They mowed the open grass areas but appeared to ignore individual sites. You drive through the long term section to get to your sites and those RV owners should be required to properly maintain their sites and RV's to not make it look rundown down. Kind of felt like we were bothering the office staff because they don't let you in the office and I waited outside for quite sometime before I seemed to be noticed. Just on customer service alone I think we'll go back to the KOA just north of there when traveling through because at that campground we were greeted with smiles and felt appreciated.

First time staying here and I am not clear as to why they have such good reviews. The roads in to the park and throughout the park are in terrible condition with massive amounts of dust. We stayed here a week and will never visit again. The nearby grocery and shopping areas are a bit sketchy and we didn't feel the safest in and around the park. Our actual site is was large enough but overgrown with grass and weeds are lack thereof. The river level is extremely low so only saw a few barges going by. As I walked around the park, there are a lot of long term occupants with sites that are in not so good of condition which really makes the park look bad. There are some good or better sites than we had for sure but were not given the option when booking. We had site 42. It had been over 20 years since I was last in Memphis and it was definitely not the same as I remember - locals told us that the crime rate was out of control and national guard actually showed up I guess a few days before our departure. For a one night only the park is sufficient and preferably a river front site is ideal.

Good once you get into the campground. Road leading in is narrow, bumpy and dusty. The campground itself is very large with minimalistic bathrooms and showers. Right on the banks of the Mississippi River. Mixed gravel and paved roads and pads. Full hookups. Decent value. Grounds maintenance seemed lacking as there was ankle high grass in a lot of places.

Stayed here for 2 months while my husband did a job at Valero Memphis. Amazing staff and nice level sites. Plenty of space. Especially to walk the dog. Loved watching the barges on the river. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights. We had a riverfront pull thru full hookups. Site was level on concrete and all amenities worked. We enjoyed watching the barges go down the Mississippi. Staff was friendly. Would stay again.

Highly recommend! Park on the Mighty Mississippi and watch the river traffic from these large full hookup sites! A quick couple of miles off the highway on wide, easy to navigate roads. Close to everything Memphis has to offer, but somehow it feels like a private oasis. Great value. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The Lady who checked us in was very nice and friendly. It was very easy to get to our pull through spot. We love to see all the big boats go by on the Mississippi river. Our dog love to roll around in the soft grass and hang out under the shade trees. The workers at the campground were working very hard. It looks like . The workers at the campground were working very hard. It looked like cleaning up from the flood a couple months ago. Even so, The ground were spacious and clean, no trash anywhere. Very peaceful and quiet and super cool by the river.

We arrived the day before they shut down for potential flooding. We were assigned site 68 and had power issues where our Watchdog showed spikes in the power and shut down two times in two hours. We called the office and they moved us to site 67 where we had two more spikes during the night. Trees also need to be trimmed so larger rigs can get in and out without damage. We would not recommend this rv resort.

Nice level concrete pad right on the river. Came here to watch river traffic and was not disappointed. Clean park not sure what the complaints were about the roads, they're fine. Plenty of space between sites, they're set up so your door side angles nicely for river views, will be back.

This is a great park on the Mississippi. It was fun watching the ships navigating the river right from our campsite. We had a pull-through, concrete site with full hook-ups right on the river. Also close to Memphis for seeing all the attractions there.

Coming from the north, you drive through a lower income area, but few people out & about. The camp itself is right on the Mississippi & the temporary campers are on the river side, full timers back against woods. Large park & worth the $60 to have our pull through site with windows facing river. Saw lots of barge traffic our one night there. Definitely would stay again.

Camped here in our 5th wheel for two nights. Very quiet and clean. Nice concrete pad with full hookups. The view of the Mississippi River was amazing, we loved watching the barge traffic. Only 20 minutes to Graceland, if you're interested. We would definitely stay here again.
