Great campground ⛺️ but the rules and regulations where not respecting: camping fire 🔥 when its is forbidden, ACs are running the whole night 😬 why people go to the nature and stay all day long in the RVs?

Nice feeling when first time campers leave a note, see pic below. I love being a host at Chipmunk Campsite in Windy Hill Recreation. Unfortunately after 4 years, in 2024 the management has gotten so bad and treats volunteers extremely poorly, that I've left.

Windy hill max length 32 feet per forest website. Coati is now max 20 as a 45 ft. Got caught and messed up in coati. Host does little to nothing. Tp and that is it. Same as last winter. Three campgrounds all practically parking lots while hundreds of good sites go fallow or locked. What a waste.

What an amazing weekend getaway at Windy Hill CG- Chipmunk Loop. Delayed in my review but went there a few months ago (Cinco de Mayo weekend I think) and it was peaceful beautiful and perfect. The grounds are kept immaculate by Dave the CG Host. He’s got tips and stories from his long standing stint there so you won’t be disappointed. The bathrooms were clean, no trash or weeds unkept. We had a single site with picnic table and fire ring. Plenty of space for our 10 man tent with some shade trees for hammock. Dave was very helpful, gracious, and professional in his duties and just had an all around great demeanor - sometimes you get the grumpiest unhelpful hosts and can put a real damper on the trip. Not Dave-he welcomed us then and we will happily return to Chipmunk Loop again in the future!

It was basically a ghost town in June. They had 2 playgrounds, clean showers with warm water and lockable doors. Bathrooms were tidy and stocked, grounds were gorgeous. There’s water spigots around the sites. Tent sites had plenty of vegetation, a fire ring, picnic table, and canopy. We had a fabulous time.

This review is of the Coati Loop, been there 3 times, and only stayed at this loop. I adore this area, this loop has tent sights so that I can get away from the generator type folks with my tent. I love the peace and quiet that comes with my water front property. Mike, the host, does a great job keeping the restrooms clean and stocked. He likes to ride around and make sure things are going well. I would like to shout out to Debra, the host at the Cottonwood Cove day use area. She's fantastic and really cares about the visitors. Roosevelt, AZ is a cool getaway from my home with it's super interesting history and trails that satisfy a hiker of any level. I find something new to do each time I go out there to explore.

Nice, clean, quiet, and not at all crowded. Only complaint is $25.00 for what? Had to drive to another campground to get water, and no sewer dump. Not even a communal one. Host said they started one a few years ago, but never finished. I'll save the $$$ next time and camp in the national forest.

Not crowded at all this weekend. Clean bathrooms and showers. Great views. Recent rains has the desert green.

We have camped at Chipmunk Loop several times in the past few months. Dave is a very friendly and accommodating host and keeps everything clean and organized. We always enjoy staying there!

Camp host Dave W at Chipmunk was great, the bathrooms were always clean and the light went out on the back of the building and he had it fixed the very next day. Dave was always making sure there was no littler around and weed eating the taller grass around the area. He helped us when we had problems with our truck. Dave was a wonderful camp host and he made our stay more relaxing and stress free.

We really like this campground. We stayed at chipmunk this time and David W. Was a wonderful host. Beautiful views and lake scenery. There are no dump stations there but they do have water and hot or cold showers depending on the solar. Good rates. God bless you all in your travels.
