Tuttle Creek BLM Campground | Lone Pine, CA

Tuttle Creek Campground was fantastic! The Campos was friendly and made us feel welcome. We got a spot right on the creek, and it was delightful! It is really hot there and the wind can be a bit gnarly, but I checked out other campgrounds in the area, and I liked our best! We did have a 26 foot trailer and it fit wonderfully with room to spare. The campsites are spread out a little bit, so you’re not right on top of anyone else. It wasn’t crowded and the price was right!

Simply majestic and peaceful! Don’t ever want to leave. Sites are spacious, have picnic table and fire ring, w water and dumpster avail. A pop up screen tent would come in handy, but we did just fine without. Comfortably fit our 36ft 5th wheel, and w total sun during most of the day, our solar did the trick. Visited in June, and couldn’t ask for better weather . We will def be back😁

Amazing campground in the heart of the Alabama Hills!

The location is absolutely stunning, with incredible views in every direction. Waking up surrounded by the beautiful rock formations and mountain scenery was an unforgettable experience.

The campsites are well maintained, and the facilities, including the restroom buildings, were clean and in excellent condition. I was also pleasantly surprised by the strong cell phone reception and internet connectivity, which is not something you always expect in such a natural setting.

The campground offers the perfect balance between being immersed in nature while still having all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

I would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend this campground to anyone visiting the Alabama Hills area.

What makes Alabama Hills special isn’t just the scenery—it’s the vibe. It’s peaceful, wide open, and unpretentious. Tuttle Creek Campground itself is beautiful and clean. During our stay dumpsters and non-drinkable running water faucet was locked.

Hot in the middle of summer, cold in the middle of winter, perfect place in spring or fall. It's Thanksgiving week hi of 65 low of 38. Perfection.
Bonus: Manzanar is only about 5 miles up the road.
I hesitate to post this because I don't want it to be too popular.
Oh, and cost is $8 a night. BLM campground baby!

Bonus 2: T-Mobile 4 bars of 5g

This is a wonderful simple campground in the affordable range. Well maintained with clean toilets and trash disposal. The sites are well sized and have large fire rings. The two sites next to ours had horse paddocks! You can get fresh water from the creek and the views are fabulous. We rode the motorcycle to the nearby Alabama Hills and up to Lone Pine Lake (well, almost). Definitely recommended, would stay there again.

Great place to stay the night. Camping spots are very nice with a small creek nearby. No need for reservations, just pay with a small envelope at the entrance (cashless also available) 10 bucks a night for a regular spot.

Great little BLM campground! The fee is $10/night, and $5 with your senior/access pass. The views of the Eastern Sierra Mountains and Alabama Hills are unbelievable. You are close to Mt. Whitney and Alabama Hills. The restrooms are pit toilets, which could use a little love. There is a creek splitting the two sides of the campground. Bugs are biting. Potable water is available, as well as a dump station for a $10 fee. Dumpsters are at the entrance. You can stay up to 30 days with a permit from the BLM office.

Camped here last minute on our way through the area… it’s first come first serve but luckily we found a spot - we arrived around sunset… it’s in a beautiful location and super cheap for such an awesome campground. Has toilets, picnic table, grill, nice tent pads, etc. very clean, spacious for car camping - it was full and we didn’t feel cramped at all. You can also have fires in the fire ring - big plus. The road in/out is easily passable. Lots of nearby hikes and amazing views camping right underneath Mt Whitney… spectacular place when you consider price, quiet, accessible but also far from town, amenities, etc. Definitely plan to stay here more!

81 RV/ tent sites. BLM campground with $10 per night fee. Most all sights are back in with fire ring and picnic table. Has a dump site for $10 fee. Sites are hard pack but not level. Sites aren't ideal if you have a 5th  wheel or MH over 35" as road is narrow and sites are at 90° to back in to. Can't beat the view of the mountains. 5500 feet elevation high desert.

Very low key campround. Just the basics: table  and benches, clean vault toilet. fire pit,
and a lantern hanger. Oh, fantastic view of the Sierra Nevada.

Bring small bills or a check, because Forest Service uses an honor box and envelope system. Creek was lovely! Near Alabama Hills, which is being over-used by boondockers, so spending the $8 per night is a kindness to all.

We really enjoyed our stay here. There's lots of boondocking in the Alabama Hills but in the campground you know it will have quiet hours. At only $5/night (half for seniors) it's worth the cost! Lots of hiking all around, ATT cell reception and good size campsites. It is first come/first serve so plan accordingly. One star short because the water had not been turned on for the season a week ago.
