Overview
Up the Creek RV Camp offers a unique experience for travelers seeking a quieter alternative to the bustling commercial centers of the region. Nestled between Walden Creek and Forge Creek, this park prioritizes natural scenery and spaciousness over traditional resort amenities. It provides a peaceful atmosphere where the sounds of flowing water replace the noise of traffic, making it a standout choice for those who value privacy and a connection to the outdoors while staying in Pigeon Forge.
Location & Surroundings
The park is situated just off Wears Valley Road, providing a secluded mountain setting that feels miles away from the neon lights of the Parkway. It is bordered by two creeks, which create a natural boundary and a serene backdrop for many of the sites. The surrounding landscape is characterized by mature hardwood trees, offering significant shade and a lush, green environment during the warmer months, while remaining easily accessible for large rigs.
Amenities & Park Features
Unlike many area campgrounds, this park does not feature a bathhouse, pool, or playground, focusing instead on high-quality site infrastructure. Guests enjoy large concrete pads that can accommodate even the largest motorhomes. Each site includes full hookups with 30 and 50-amp service, water, and sewer. The park also provides reliable Wi-Fi and cable TV, ensuring modern conveniences are met within a rustic, creek-side environment that feels truly authentic.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the park feels isolated, it is only a short drive from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the famous attractions of Pigeon Forge. Visitors are perfectly positioned to explore Dollywood or spend a day at The Island. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to hiking trails and scenic drives through Wears Valley, while the nearby town of Gatlinburg offers additional dining and shopping opportunities just minutes away.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for self-contained RVers who prefer a quiet, adult-oriented atmosphere over a high-activity family resort. It is a perfect fit for couples or solo travelers who want a scenic home base for exploring East Tennessee. If you value large, level sites and the peaceful sound of a creek over organized activities and crowded common areas, this park offers the refined, natural experience you are looking for.

The perfect campground close enough to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, without the noise and congestion of a resort Campground. Big sites, not on top of your neighbors. Full hook up 30/50a, no bath house, no pool, just peace and quiet.

This is an RV park. There are no playgrounds, bathrooms, showers, or other buildings. But there is a nice little dog park. This is really just for RVs. It's very quiet here, just like I like it. It's very clean and well kept with plenty of shade trees. I didn't feel packed into a spot like some of the other places located nearby. Everyone that we have met was very nice.

It was like a state park. No shower house type of amenities but full hookups but it is a SWEEEET spot. On the Pigeon Forge Bus Loop every hour. Our first campground ever, and it will be hard to beat going forward.

Wonderful campground with large mostly shaded sites. It doesn't at all feel like you're just in a parking lot with minimal space like so many of the other campgrounds in the Pigeon Forge area. To have full hookups with lots of trees and two creeks is quite special.

The layout is nice and convenient with all service , power ,water ,and sewage at your pad. The facility is clean and well maintained. One big misunderstanding was that we couldn't have a tent or hammock, no exceptions. This seemed silly since they allowed screen tents on the pad. Just need to make that clearer. The last night the rain came down it didn't seem bad until before I went to bed I went outside and saw we were surrounded by water and it was coming in fast. As I was preparing to leave in a hurry, my phone rang it was someone from the campground telling me to evacuate. Well, after watching Texas flood videos, I wasn't sticking around. later that evening at a hotel, I checked my messages and saw they offered a slip someplace else in the campground. I liked the place but they could use a full-time office person. The landscape and cleaning staff are great guys. Don't bring a tent, no hammocks, and a high chance of flooding in rain. Other than that it's a great place, no tv or trolley
