Amazing campsites, beautiful trails and lakes. Have camped here twice and will be coming back!!! Everything is well maintained and the sites are gorgeous and easy to set up a tent in most/all of them, I recommend Loop A for tent camping, offers lovely individual stables in the horse camp and a nice playground in Loop B, they offer hiker-only trails as well hiker/horse-only, hiker/bike-only, and multi-use across the park! Visitor center sells ice, firewood, water, plates, and many other basic essentials as well as shirts, hoodies, walking sticks, pins, and stuffed animals and bags! So much to do here, I'm absolutely in love with this park!!!

No parking fee is needed here. Also this place is close to Memphis as well. I had a great experience of Hiking here. I saw people do fishing here as well. Some of them were swimming there. If you love nature, you should be there. Trees will be marked some of them will be very light marking but still if you be in the trail, you won’t get lost.

We spent three nights in the state park in one of their cabins. They have recently been renovated and are considered excellent for park cabins. The unit was clean and well appointed. The personnel in the office were very helpful and friendly. The office restrooms were nice and clean. The state park store was well stocked and prices were reasonable. The trails were well marked and very clean. The Discovery Center was a real treat! The historic signage was well done and very useful.

One of the most beautiful & spacious state parks I've visited. The RV sites are spread out, the area is peaceful and clean. I enjoyed it so much on the first visit that we stayed there again on the return home.

Absolutely amazing!! Well kept and preserved. So many activities to do. The cabins were stunning, has a fully stocked kitchen and easily accessible with spacious parking. Staff was polite, informative and offered a very welcoming atmosphere. Best memories will be shared here.

Beautiful park! Camp sites are nicely spaced, and the park is very well kept. LOTS of hiking and biking areas - both paved and off road.

Hiked the old military road trail in the winter. Nice trail. Interesting to get to see such an old road. Facilites seem nice and clean and well maintained. Want to visit for longer in the summer.

Wonderful experience! We stayed for New Year’s Eve and there were hardly any other campers there. It’s a beautiful park and well laid out for everyone to enjoy. Campsite was paved and mostly level. Bathhouse was clean. The rangers at the visitor center were very friendly and were a joy to converse with. No cell service in the park was a blessing for us. We will be back!

I just got back from a girl's trip to Village Creek to ride horses for a week. It was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend going during the fall as the colors of the leaves were beautiful. The trails were a nice change from the mostly flat land of Florida and lower Alabama. There are many picnic tables located along the trails, and at each camp site. The stalls are in good shape and close to the campsite, so you can keep an eye on your horse. There is a manure dump area close to the stalls with a wheelbarrow as well. The horse camp has water and power, and there is a dump station conveniently located on the road going out not far from camp. There is a bath house located in the horse camp. Dogs are allowed in camp, but not the bath house. Phone service is very spotty in camp, but you can get reception at the Arkansas sign coming into the park as well as some places on trail. There are multiple lakes, and you can bring a boat, kayak, canoe, or you can just rent one. There are bike and hiking trails as well as a playground for the little ones, so there is something for everyone to do. In late afternoon, you will see deer everywhere. We even had a couple of raccoons try to join us for dinner one night.
