Cabins are very nice. We stayed a week in a pet friendly one. Not many places to bank fish. Awesome pickle ball, tennis and basketball courts!!! Park staff was nice. We could always get new towels when needed. WiFi is SUPER SLOW.

Having done the Austrell Trail on a previous visit, I hiked the Big Ben Trail this time which is an interesting but short trail. Still worth it for the wild vegetation. I wanted to try the Dunn trail, but it is only accessible from the campground and I didn’t see a parking at the trailhead. On my way out, I hiked the connector trail to the Military Road Trail which is also un interesting short trail with views of Lake Austell.

Always great! Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. There are more trails to walk than can be done on a weekend! We walked the lake Austell trail, the horse trail, and just through the campground areas. Most all sites have ample space with full hookups as well as cabin rentals, kayak rentals, and fishing. Bathhouses are cleaned daily and have showers at no extra charge.

Village Creek is absolutely beautiful. The trails are easy to follow and the welcome center has all the basics you need, just obviously a higher price. The souvenirs are pretty awesome and there's literally something for everyone. The playground has gotten a lot smaller over the years, but I guess that's to help maintain it. Restrooms are usually clean and nice...except when people with no home training try to destroy them and throw things all over. The staff is super friendly and the rangers are great. I'm local and I've still rented a cabin a few times. The campsites are nice and well maintained. The cabins are a perfect getaway no matter where you're from. Fireplace, internet if you want to use it, kitchen with everything you need, the couches have all been comfy, and the beds make you want to stay in and snuggle all day they're so comfortable. The lakes are great for fishing and swimming, but swim in the sections that are roped off. Yes there are snakes and bugs, but it's a beautiful forrest so what do you expect? I'll continue to come here every day that I can. It's peaceful, beautiful, energizing, and all around wonderful.

Beautiful,.gorgeous, and well-kept state park. Pristine. Has wonderful hiking trails, boat launch, kayak/sup rentals, horse camp with stalls and corrals. There is the power campground A which is beautiful with spots close together and heavily shaded. Looks as if spots 1 thru about 15 back up to a small creek that could be very comforting if water is up. From spot 23, you can access a trail. Campground B is super spacious, newer, and pristine. I was able to get starlink to effectively work in this campground, but very few spots would appear to accommodate that. No cell service in park with Verizon. Download trail maps. This park is an incredible hidden jewel. Have cabins that are nice looking and updated on outside. Stayed 5 nights. Stunning.

We went in the summer the only problem was the bugs were bad. There's plenty of trails, swimming, and the playground. The park interpreters were great. So we went the week of Thanksgiving, and with no bugs the trails were better and the interpreters were just as good!

Amazing campsites, beautiful trails and lakes. Have camped here twice and will be coming back!!! Everything is well maintained and the sites are gorgeous and easy to set up a tent in most/all of them, I recommend Loop A for tent camping, offers lovely individual stables in the horse camp and a nice playground in Loop B, they offer hiker-only trails as well hiker/horse-only, hiker/bike-only, and multi-use across the park! Visitor center sells ice, firewood, water, plates, and many other basic essentials as well as shirts, hoodies, walking sticks, pins, and stuffed animals and bags! So much to do here, I'm absolutely in love with this park!!!

The park was small and the primitive camp sites are nice but you do have to walk a ways from the parking lot to get to them, make sure you bring a buggy. There are no restrooms by the primitive site only Port O potties. The restrooms and shower are pretty nice by the RV site. If you’re coming for hiking they still have not repaired the damage from Hurricane Harvey so the trail to get to the swimming isn’t open. They don’t tell you this when you check in and the maps are not updated. I don’t see how after 8 years they can’t update the maps. We came to hike and swim and are not able to swim. We asked to canoe yesterday and were told no as they didn’t have enough staff. Pretty bummed we came to do these things and couldn’t. There are loud trains throughout the night and construction happenings very early in the morning. It’s very loud at night.

No parking fee is needed here. Also this place is close to Memphis as well. I had a great experience of Hiking here. I saw people do fishing here as well. Some of them were swimming there. If you love nature, you should be there. Trees will be marked some of them will be very light marking but still if you be in the trail, you won’t get lost.

We spent three nights in the state park in one of their cabins. They have recently been renovated and are considered excellent for park cabins. The unit was clean and well appointed. The personnel in the office were very helpful and friendly. The office restrooms were nice and clean. The state park store was well stocked and prices were reasonable. The trails were well marked and very clean. The Discovery Center was a real treat! The historic signage was well done and very useful.

Beautiful park with lots of hiking trails. One is currently closed for maintenance, meaning the upkeep is great here. We love the little workout trail! Next time we will rent kayaks and/or bring our bikes!

I've stayed here twice. Once in a tent, that experience was ok. The spaces are tight. This time we stayed in a cabin. It was really nice and peaceful the restroom was nice and big. The kitchen was very nice. Plenty of hot water to go around. The fishing and swimming access wasn't good. However, it was very quiet. The restrooms are nice. The trails are pretty well marked and maintained.

One of the most beautiful & spacious state parks I've visited. The RV sites are spread out, the area is peaceful and clean. I enjoyed it so much on the first visit that we stayed there again on the return home.
