Watson Lake Park RV Camping in Prescott, AZ

This lake is beautiful anytime of day, but especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. It’s possible to hike the perimeter of the lake (4 miles). From the parking lot, vista points are a short walk. Parking is now $5 or if you’re staying at Point of Rock campground there’s a private trail that leads you in.

Beautiful park, will marked trails but plenty of boulder hopping opportunities, and the all-day pass is only $3.
Very scenic place to kayak, rent a paddle boat, meditate 🧘🏻‍♀️, picnic, 🚶🏻‍♀hike ... etc.

This is such a beautiful place to play, relax, walk, hike, fish, or boat. My husband and I went for our 2nd hike out there today. The first time we hiked in the woods along the creek. Today we hiked the Dells to the back of the dam. It was stunning, and a great workout. I recommend taking trekking poles. They're very helpful for the steep areas and navigating narrow passages between boulders.

Watson Lake: Spectacular!  A man made lake surrounded by granite dells (unique rock formations), the hiking around this beauty is a total winner!  We’ve been to Sedona half a dozen times over the last 20 years, & never knew this Prescott spot existed ‘til a week ago. No one had ever mentioned it… which is surprising.  What a visual stunner!

We went in January and there only 3 other cars there so we had the park to ourselves. There is a $10 fee to enter. Plenty of parking, campsites are available, public restrooms and a very nice pavilion for picnics. There are picnic tables throughout the park with bbq grills, some trails for hiking, fishing is permitted but no swimming. Two boat launches are available and kayak and canoe rentals are also onsite. Dogs are permitted.
Playground, 18 hole disc golf, a large turfed area, and horseshoe pits are also available. The unique rock formations make the lake unique and beautiful.

Great trails with many scenic views around the lake and Granite Dells. Lots of bird species. Fun lake to kayak... bring your own or rent on site.

What a beautiful little Park up out of Prescott.
There were some camping sites there that weren't great but would be okay...
But the rest of the park and the kayaking is out of this world.

Amazing rock formations along this lake. The park that leads the way to the lake is green and well kempt. Pleanty of trails to follow to get some amazing views.

We actually went out to hike the five mile five Watson Lake Loop. We parked in a parking lot just off the highway near the bird sanctuary area, so we had no fee. We started our hike walking towards the dam and granite dells. We passed through the park where there was, a boat ramp, toilets, kayak rental place, picnic tables, and an old Frisbee golf course. This was an easy part of the trail, From there, we started to head up and over the granite boulders going in a clockwise direction. We wanted to get the harder parts out of the way first. It was a beautiful hike. We are 61 and 67, regular hikers, and found some of the areas a little challenging. There was a bit of scrambling and rock hopping. Be prepared with good hiking shoes and maybe hiking poles. Some areas are quite steep. It is absolutely beautiful. We actually got lost in the beauty and added an extra mile to the hike. It is well marked for the most part, but it is easy to go off trail. The last section around the marsh was flat and easy. We were sure glad we'd picked to do the hard part first. Go prepared and take plenty water. We packed a picnic, to stop and enjoy along the way. It was certainly worth the effort.

It's amazing Lake after eazy trail of ten-fifteen minutes from parking area downwards. The lake is surrounded by hard roud corners rocks. Many kinds of water birds and life seen here. Very calm and cool place with pin drop silence,filled with fresh and crisp air. One can enjoy here 2-3 hours easily and make their day memorable for life long....
