An excellent spot. Definitely remember to bring water as it needs to be boiled from the taps, but excellent care of bathrooms

Nice week of camping, lots of canoeing. Beautiful waterfalls and found an old cabin site in the woods

It was beautiful, it was fairly quiet and the beach and lake were fantastic. Only downside which is uncontrollable camping near a lake is the mosquitoes, horse flies and all the other bugs that bite.... however that's just what comes with camping... had a fantastic time at mahood lake

Dog owners beware of black flies! We were there for only 2 nights and when we arrived home and bathed our golden retriever we noticed many many spots on her tummy, groin, armpits, ears and chest (see last photo). They aren’t harmful apparently and don’t require treatment but the spots look scary. Also A LOT of noseeum’s & mosquitos biting us. So bring lots of mosquito spray and bug deterrents. Otherwise- the campsite was great & well maintained, fairly quiet (when we went), dog friendly “beach”, nice lake, three waterfalls nearby (6-15minute drive and a short walk), pit toilets available & cleanish. I’d go back but would be weary of the bugs & our doggo.

Nice relaxing site away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's really nice that you can see the stars at night and how fresh the air is out here. Not too far from some easy hikes as well. Outhouses are very well maintained, which is always a good thing. The only 2 things that were an issue were the swarms of mosquitoes (I went in August) and that the lake was infected with Giardia Virus, making the water (and importantly, the taps) undrinkable unless you boiled for 10 minutes.

In Wells Grey Park! Pristine lakes, quiet large campsites. No services, away from it all. Known as the waterfall park. Super hiking. Paddle in campsites along the lake, boat tours, small restaurant. Last about 30 kms are on rough gravel. 1 hr fro town. Loved it!!!
