SUPER disappointed with how we are being treated as returning guests here. We are checking in today and have just been told they no longer do trash pickup. We’ve stayed at the NH location 5 years in a row and usually travel with 11 other families for the same weekend every year. This year not only do we need to bring our trash to the dump but you also don’t provide sheets and towels. 🤯 When we booked a year ago all of these services were provided and were included in the price we are paying. Now less services same price and staff who have basically told us to just deal. Awful service.

This was my first time coming and for what I spent on my vacation I was disappointed. I booked back in November for a week in August. I got all of two notifications before I arrived. One for the balance of my bill, the other to say they were looking forward to seeing us. We arrived late and got a phone call that since we would be there later than 7pm they were leaving our keys in a mailbox since no one would be on the office. We were never told about a specific check in time - but got the keys and got to our cottage. We paid extra for linens and were missing pillows upon arriving, and since there was no one available past 7pm had to do without. Our lights weren’t working outside our cottage or in our bedroom either when we arrived. The next day we went to let them know - pillows arrived maybe an hour later but no one ever came to fix the lights. We also noticed missing batteries for the TV remotes and spotty WiFi service. So fast forward two days and the first Monday we were there the kids wanted to see what activities they could do. That’s when we discovered: The general store wouldn’t be open until THURSDAY and there was no way to buy bait, rent kayaks or purchase anything without leaving the camp grounds There was NO activities at all the whole week for kids until Friday, which would be the day we were leaving The pool would be closed for two days (Tuesday and Thursday for cleaning) Laser tag (advertised on camp map) was no longer offered No more train rides WiFi router is at the main building so they “can’t guarantee WiFi” where is clearly says WiFi on their website They don’t have cable anymore so don’t worry about no batteries in the remotes - you can’t use the TVs provided to you anyway No one is around to address my lights now working - so sorry Basically - nothing to do and nothing to be done. I paid for a full experience not just a cottage. I went to speak to the general manager THREE TIMES who conveniently was off two of the days and the third day I was promised a call. Good thing I didn’t hold my breath. When I asked why nothing was communicated that this week would not have activities I was told “we don’t do that online or on our website” - talking to the few people who stayed they echoed the same observation. For what I spent I could’ve paid half somewhere else. Hoping I get a call from management eventually to voice my concern. If they called me back after my first visit, my review would’ve been different, but their lack of care and false advertising when everything on their website is vague and states things that was not delivered on prompted me to let individuals know you can do better elsewhere; good memories but when I had to leave the campgrounds to enjoy the lake I was staying on it says something.

We have been to Westwood Shores many times and this stay we had a blast with friends and family but the staff and cleanliness was awful. Cory at the desk was not friendly at all. Not someone you want to be greeting guest!!! Jackie was GREAT. The cabin was very dirty. I swept up a pile of dog hair, the shower curtain was moldy and red at the bottom, the back room smelled like urine, windows had hand prints and dog saliva on the low windows and doors. The snack shack was not open and has not been open all season, no cable but have TVs in the cabin. When asked about it they were rude "we don't have cable" They did not sell char coal at the store but the grilles are all char coal. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL! Very expensive for what you get.

Unwelcoming front desk staff with no smiles. We were really looking forward to our annual stay at WWS, but our excitement was short-lived. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff came across as unfriendly, which made us feel unwelcome. We felt as if we were inconveniencing them. This wasn't the kind of hospitality we expected from a family-friendly resort. A welcoming smile goes a long way. The Managers are more suited to be a correctional officer than resort front desk managers. Our Family and friends have been coming to WWS for years and years. The customer service that we received this past weekend was so disappointing we all left planning never to coming back. The cabins were dirty, smelt like urine. The shower curtain had mildew and a red bottom. the floors had dog fur everywhere, windows had dog slobber all over them. Crumbs in the kitchen draws. The public bathrooms were not clean, The air events were filled with dirt n grime, and the floors looked like they haven't been clean for a while. quite frankly the place was disgusting. No more snack shack. They don't sell charcoal at the store but they only provide you with a charcoal grill. They also do not provide with trash pick up like they have in the past. For the money you pay, it's not worth it. There are better places out there. Response from the owner 16 hours ago Hi Tami, We are disappointed to hear this, and we will certainly follow up on the housekeeping concerns. Our rules and regulations are in place for the safety and peaceful enjoyment of our guests, and they apply to everyone. We understand that nobody enjoys issuing or receiving rule reminders or violation notices, but these communications are a necessary part of maintaining a safe camping environment for everyone to enjoy. These tough conversations may not seem "welcoming" or "friendly," but they are important. We appreciate your feedback, and we wish you all the best wherever you choose to vacation next. The funny part about this response from the owner is, THEY FAILED at communication. They tried to hide from these "tough conversations"

We have been going to westward shores for over 15 years, and each year seems to progressively get worse. We decided to give it another shot and stayed at the Lake Front cabin. HUGE MISTAKE. Here’s what you get: Cabin - they did not provide any paper towels, the grill was filthy and not cleaned, trash bags non-existent. No cable - managements response to this is they do not offer it anymore, EVEN THOUGH IT IS ADVERTISED No WIFI - seems that their “free WiFi” doesn’t make it over to the area. Lake view - nice lake view but the beach on your site means that everyone staying on the peninsula is also on your site. There was no privacy and you were basically camping with 50 other folks in your backyard. Rules - if you love rules, this is your place. They have rules on top of rules and each year they seem to add more. For the nearly $600 per night I am still trying to figure out exactly what we paid for. Westward Shores continues to show that they could care less about customer service once they have your money. You’re better off staying somewhere else as there are MUCH CHEAPER options to enjoy the lake. If you do choose Westward, save yourself the money and avoid the Lake Front cabins.
