Camped with a small RV in the 3rd week of June. Plenty of site availability. Spacious and level everywhere. Nested under the trees. We are self contained so didn’t use the facilities. Bugs were not too bad - a little sparky and they stayed away. No dump station here and, our only gripe, had to be creative to add water to our rig since the water stations are not threaded for hose connectors. Camp host was pleasant and accommodating. Short walk to the sandy banks of the Swift River.

I’ve been coming here since 1994 as a toddler and just about every summer since. Never had an issue with camp hosts. Have never been confronted or told to put out a fire past a certain time. Have never been confronted about payment either. Neighbors are usually respectful and I personally have never had an issue. The bathrooms are clean with running water and the sites for the most part are kept up with as well. The sites do have a decent amount of privacy although I do feel as the years have gone on there’s been a good amount of thinning of the trees between sites and they have become more open which is disappointing but do understand that sometimes it has to be done. Overall I enjoy this campground and will continue to keep coming back with family. We have a trip planned for later this month and we are all very excited to come back!

We stayed here before when Barbara was the host and loved it. We were almost deterred to not come back during our recent trip because of the recent poor reviews, but figured we’d see for ourselves. We had a very pleasant time! No issues with rules being super strictly enforced as mentioned in some reviews. Quiet hours from 10pm to 6am which people followed at least in our area. We didn’t see the host besides when we had arrived at the campsite our first day, and Nat was very friendly and helpful. The restrooms (with flush toilets) were clean and had a lot of toilet paper in each stall, just bring your own soap to wash your hands. No running showers at the moment (late July 2024) due to the showers being worked on. The site is dog-friendly, and we dogsat for a friend. Check out is at noon. Would happily come back.

Beautiful area! A highlight bike ride on our 30 day road trip.

Awesome stay. Stayed 2 nights... Only campground along the Kancamagus highway with shower facilities. So if your tanks are running low great place to stay.

good camping spot. clean bathrooms. quiet place, nice space between sites, felt private. nice little beach area right on the river. similar to a recent review, we had a host come around in the morning who was questioning if we had paid. we had, and although the person wasn't pushy by any means, we were actually on our way out at that time, and i wonder if it would have become an issue if we had stayed and the host wasn't able to locate our payment... Maybe they are having issues with collecting payments with the increase in people getting outdoors due to covid and using this campsite more frequently than it has been used in the past? But if it's such an issue, they should probably make a change in the procedure for making payments.....If you are consistently harassing people who are actually good actors....Not a good way to do business. That wasn't my experience, but based on the other reviewer, if the host hadn't been able to locate our payment, we would have probably faced that person's wrath, too.

The campsite was well taken care of but, the staff was extremely strict to the point where they would wait till local law enforcement would arrive to talk to anyone. This made it seem like they wanted to scare everyone into being completely quite right at 10pm. This made us always feel like we were being watched and made our vacation not feel like a vacation. I would suggest changing the quiet time hours to later and not being so aggressive with enforcing the rules. This has caused us not to go back there again and will be going to other campsites to enjoy our vacations.

This is a very nice and convienantly located campground. Many hiking trails nearby and attractions. Campground is pretty much right in the middle of the Kangamangus hwy, next to Bear Notch Rd. Campground has nice different size sites, some wooded, some open and airy. The bathrooms were really kept clean, and they have coin operated hot showers. Hosts were friendly and enforced evening quiet hours. There is a short trail that leads to the river with a nice beach. Also there's a trail that leads to the Passaconway historical house/site. The nearest stores and gas stations are a bit aways, Conway about a 20 min drive on the east end of the Kanc or Lincoln a 30 min drive on the west end. With that being said, make sure your stocked up on ice, food, gas and camping items as the campground only has firewood for sale. This is a nice family or hikers campground. Beautiful place to take in all that the Kangamangus has to offer!

Stayed for an overnight trip. Site #47. Drive in, pick an open camp spot and pay for the nights by the front board. Clean area, some more open and several with in walking distance of the river. Picnic table with fire ring. Bath rooms were clean, didn’t use the showers but they do offer them. Three host locations for questions. Trails leading off in different directions. Some sites have more privacy. The inside locations had more of the trees cut down directly around them. No noise problems at night or in the morning. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a campground.
