This is a very well-kept state park. Would be a great park for a family reunion or group camp trip. Park in RIGHT in Harrison, on the corner of two main roads. Significant road noise. If you're looking for 'quiet, in the woods' park... This is not for you. But if you're looking for somewhere close to town...this is great.

Nice campground. Very clean. Always someone driving around from the park checking on things. I will say our campsite WAS NOT level. The website where it described the site, it said it was level. Most other sites looked pretty well level. Just beware campsite 43 has a hill. Very much enjoyed my stay with my husband and dog!

We only spent one night but probably should have stayed more. Wilson has been a state park since the 1920’s. It had one of the best beaches we’ve found at the state parks. We were told the fishing was good.

The positioning and layout of the park is reminiscent of myrtle beach, but scaled down. Positioned between a city and a body of water. There are obvious differences, but the sibling similarities are strong. The negatives: You can see the main road through town from all or most of the camping spots. The electric service is 30 amps max, and the power access, is awkward for many of the sites requiring upto 50 feet of extension cord. The positives: Mature trees, lawn or well shaded dirt. Sites are mostly level and parking in the sites is not restricted. The lake is nice and the water is clear. The staff are friendly and helpful. We are here mid week in June and it is busier than I was expecting. The park does have loaner extension cords (30 amp), which is very cool. Probably not enough for everyone on a weekend, but I was able to use one mid week. The sites are good sized, but without much division between them. The bathrooms are newer and well kept. For an older park positioned inside a city, it is nice.

Kids love this beach, not only can they go swimming but not to far is a dock to go fishing! It's peaceful, quiet little beach and our favorite here so far. ❤️☺️

Nice campground with comfortable sized lots. Small but clean beach area. Was a little hard getting friend to the water down the stairs from the beach due to lack of easy (or at least noticable) handicap access, but we also didn't look too hard as the group just helped the friend down. Pleasant staff, nice playground. I did not use the shower house, but the beach bathroom was clean.

PROs: very clean bathrooms, showers, and grounds. Friendly staff, great playground for kids and game area for teens. The beach was really nice and calm for swimming or laying out. There are a couple nice outlet stores nearby if you enjoy shopping. CONs: very few sites that are level ( very uneven ground and some sites on a hill) . Noise to be expected near the road of course so if you have a tent maybe bring a fan for white noise at night. No walk/bike trails. We noticed a couple dead trees around campsites and tree limbs that were dead so be very careful where you set up your camper or tent. Overall would not choose to come back to this campground again. But I enjoy more secluded, quiet campgrounds that have nature trails.

Great little park! We stayed in the lodge and it was very roomy and clean. Great for a family weekend! Small beach area but not too small! It’s easy to access and has a concession area as well. Park is well maintained. Walk or bike ride to local restaurants and shopping.

Nice park. Very few sites that are great. As many have said, many are basically right on the Main Street. Some even back up to a new Taco Bell coming in. Not many restaurants/bar in the area if you are into that. Couple cute shops in town Some other observations ── ☐ Lots of sites have power 1-2 campsites away. So consider bringing extra cords. ── ☐ 131 - we had this and it was nice. By path Not deep Electric on other side Water view great ── ☐ 134 huge ── ☐ Super nice staff ── ☐ Really nice bathroom, but consider bringing your own toilet paper. There’s is like thin crunchy non-absorbent paper. ── We started with 137 - power was two sites away and it wasn’t a very nice site so we moved.

Wonderful state park! Tucked away in the middle of the mitten on beautiful Budd Lake. Wilson state park has a lot to offer. Very nice playgrounds for both small children and adults. Nice beach with a beautiful pavilion along with restrooms. Foot path along the lake shore takes you from one end to the other of the park. Park grounds are very spacious, great for a nice walk or bike ride.
