The park is so beautiful! The river runs along the edge that has a boat ramp down to it. There are picnic tables all around (some have a BBQ stand), camping areas with covered picnic tables, just over a mile walking track all around the park, a play area for children, shower house for campers and a wonderful and interesting visitors center.

Amazing campground. Rangers were helpful and kind. Loved that the showers and flush toilets were accessible 24/7 so we didn't have to sleep in the days grossness when coming back from our nearby adventures. The location is great for day trips to Craig and Steamboat Springs. Lots of fishing holes nearby. And we were able to check out a hammock from the visitor center that made afternoon naps amazing!

It's a nice enough camp site. The spots are level with rock, fire pits/grills and a covered picnic bench. There is a free shower and coin laundry for guests. We didn't see any sewer or water hookups and their dump station is out of service. There is water available just not at our site. It's pretty close to the road and you hear traffic noise all the time.

What a great day destination! I enjoyed the walking trail and learned a few new things from the interpretive signage. A big shout out to Ranger Kirk who went above and beyond with courteous help and the knowin' of all things Yampa river...

Love the River access here! If you're not big on floating or kayaking, you can definitely still cool off by walking in and wading where the boats enter and exit. This area is only about knee high for an adult all the way to the other side of the river. So excellent for children to splash around. The vault toilets are spotless. They get cleaned at least twice a day from what I was able to witness in my 3 days day. They are cleaner than my half bathroom even after the cleaning lady comes! Note that the Wash House is only open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. If you stay in the tipis, This means that you will have a very long walk to the nearest vault toilet in the middle of the night. We were informed this is because people were staying overnight in the Wash House without paying for a location. Which makes sense, but they do not share the code with guests who are paying which is a bit odd and makes for a very uncomfortable 3:00 a.m. restroom break given the long walk. Also be aware that you are near a highway. We stayed at two different sites in this location and both of them had significant road noise and both were the farthest away from the highway according to the map. There is also no store on site that sells firewood or other camping essentials. There is a mercantile less than a mile away but it does close at 8:00 p.m. So come prepared or be prepared to hit the store before 8:00 p.m.. Highly recommend the tipis! Both have permanent UV shield covering over the tables and they stay well well temperature regulated inside. We were there during a 97° hot spell and the tipi was MUCH more comfortable than our tent. If you are tent camping, be very aware that you will need to bring your own shade. Only one campsite, 41, seemed to have shade throughout the course of the day. All the others were either in full sun all day or full sun for most of the day. RV sites all have a permanent covering over the picnic table. None of the tent sites except for number 38 do. Number 38 is closest to the highway though. So I would highly recommend tent site 41 if you are tent camping.

Love this area and this campground is wonderful. Clean restrooms, lots of space between spots, quiet, green grass for the kids and adults to play, river access close by, hot showers, excellent service from camp host, welcome center with information and gifts, playground, volleyball nets, Cornhole, and paths all around. The sites were above expectations. They take the gravel and wrote "welcome" in the gravel. Electricity hook ups and potable water available. We will definitely be back.

Nice, small campgrounds. Not much in the way of tree baffling so road noise from the highway was a bit louder than I'd have preferred in the tent area. I stayed during early July so there was a significant mosquito population. The facilities do include private showers with reasonable water pressure and temperature, as well as a coin laundry. The boat ramp down to the river was fine. Informational signage was good. The crew staffing the office and the camp hosts were all quite friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the Juniper Canyon Campground. Nice new pads, with covered picnic table and fire pit. No hookups, but clean restrooms. No other campers in early October Friday. Primarily a primitive raft or floating launch (no concrete ramp). Nice quiet night stop and dogs had plenty of room to run.
