Spent the weekend and it was lovely. Kids had a great time roasting marshmallows, fishing and exploring. People are friendly and our pup was able to be part of the adventure.only down side were the mosquitoes, they are really really bad this year . We had attempted to hike the trails but had to turn back half mile in because they were swarming us so bad. Bring lots of repellent.

Quiet trail that I attempted. Lots of bees and flies on the trail. Got stung by a bee walking so couldn’t complete it. Looks like a great trail though

It’s beautiful here. Besides the drunks that don’t pay, and put their tent up in the middle of the trail and selfishly block anyone else from going up or out after camping in the back packing camping area. We were blocked in completely from leaving. The smell of alcohol almost knocked us out when we went around the tent (around in the woods with the thorns mind you) he also peed all over the outside of our car on the side I put my 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN too.

Hey everyone, be like the person that jst comes in the middle of the night and set up a tent right in the middle of the trail. This trail leads up to the hike in camp sites, so let me tell how great that wasn't to unpack and get outta there

Gorgeous tree lined level pot. Nice walking trails and can walk to see the river. Poison Oak on the trees so be careful. Pictures are from site 60.

Absolutely beautiful campground. We stayed in site 57. Very nice site. All the sites are very nice. We loved hearing the train roll past. Make sure to pack bug spray though, Mosquito are pretty bad. Would definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful little gem hidden so close to the city! First time camping here and couldn't have been more pleased! Quiet, clean, well spaced out sites and plenty to do. Bath houses were clean, playground, walking trails, fishing and relaxation! Super affordable, $79 for 3 nights at a full electrical site. Just bring firewood as the office may not be open for it.

Extreme shade. It's a nice place. A lot of camping spots and has a security person on duty.

We liked this county park. We arrived about dusk, had no problem finding an RV site, and found it pleasant but not fancy. We also did some walking in the park--it is a dispersed, somewhat underdeveloped resource at a beautiful and historic spot on the DesMoines River. It was also fairly convenient to the freeways yet secluded and quiet. We saw a bald eagle with a fish in its claws too :-).

This place was sold out of sites during the time but the view was visually appealing:)
