Yellowhead RV Park & Campground

Yellowhead RV Park & Campground is a peaceful spot just off Highway 5, right by Swift Creek. The sites are spacious and shaded, with a mix of pull-thru RV spots and tent areas. You’ll find clean washrooms, free hot showers, a sani-dump, and even laundry on-site. There’s a small store at the office for basics, and WiFi works decently near the front. Parking is easy, and the campground is walkable to Valemount’s town centre — handy for grabbing a bite or supplies. It’s pet-friendly, and the salmon run in the creek is a bonus if you’re around late summer. No playground or pool, but it’s quiet and well-kept, ideal for a stopover or a few nights of mountain air.

So glad we came during salmon spawning to see that amazing feet of nature! Great place and the noise wasn't too bad from the highway!

Beautiful campsite with excellent facilities. Very clean, lots of space and great viewing for the spawning salmon. We were in a tent and could hear the road and railroad a bit, though not a game stopper. Highly recommend

We love this campground! We stay here every time we pass through. Sites are nice and easy to get into. Lots of trees make the setting feel cozy. There is an awesome creek that runs alongside. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are nice. No complaints at all and we will be back!

We stayed one night on May 20, 2025. We arrived without a reservation but there were many options available. We had our Tear Drop Trailer and only required a tent site. Kathy, the lady we met at check-in was helpful, informative, friendly and accommodating. One of the many things we really appreciated was the owners approach to protecting the environment and in particular the creek where Salmon spawn annually. The spot we wanted in the campground we were not able to have because it was too close to the creek out of concern for the banks of the creek and the salmon. We were very impressed with their responsible approach and unwillingness to risk the habitat. The campground was spotless and very well manicured. The showers were clean and there was amply hot water. There were also laundry facilities but we never needed those. YES, we would definitely recommend this campground and hope to be able to stay again ourselves!

Astonishingly bad customer service. Perhaps the worst managed business of any kind that I have ever experienced. 2nd star for very clean campground showers and bathrooms.

CAMPERS BEWARE!!!!!! The owner and staff were aggressive, confrontational and treated us like we were less than human all the while we were following the given guidelines. The owner, Claudia, threatened to call the police to have us forcibly removed for not being parked to her satisfaction, even though we agreed to move. Claudia would continually bring up non issues, it seemed like she was just out to pick a fight. We felt targeted. The staff came by many times unwilling to have a reasonable conversation or explain the rules, just gave us threats and told us to stop “giving attitude” which was trying to ask reasonable questions to understand the issues. We are avid campers and have never had such an AWFUL EXPERIENCE.
