Yellowstone RV Park

Overview

Yellowstone RV Park serves as a premier basecamp for travelers eager to explore the natural wonders of America's first national park. Located just a mile north of the North Entrance in Gardiner, MT, the park offers an unparalleled vantage point for taking in the big sky of Montana. Its unique terraced design is a standout feature, strategically constructed to ensure that almost every guest enjoys a clear view of the surrounding mountain ranges and the river below. This layout provides a sense of privacy and elevation that makes the stay feel more connected to the landscape than a typical roadside stop.

Location & Surroundings

The park is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Yellowstone River, where the sound of flowing water creates a peaceful environment for relaxation after a long day of travel. To the south, the iconic Electric Peak dominates the horizon, providing a constant reminder of the rugged wilderness that lies just minutes away. Its location near the town of Gardiner allows visitors to take a short drive for local supplies and dining, while the surrounding hills are frequently visited by elk, bison, and mule deer that roam freely through the area.

Amenities & Park Features

Designed to accommodate a wide variety of travel styles, the park features spacious sites equipped with full hookups, including 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Whether you are driving a compact van or a large luxury motorhome, the pull-through and back-in sites provide ample room for setup and slide-outs. Guests also benefit from modern necessities such as a dedicated laundry facility and clean, private showers. To keep you connected with the outside world, the park offers wireless internet and cable TV at every site, successfully balancing rustic charm with modern utility.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Staying here puts you at the doorstep of the Roosevelt Arch, the historic stone gateway that marks the original entrance into the national park. From this point, it is a short trip to the travertine terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs, one of the park's most famous and accessible geothermal features. Beyond the park boundaries, the area is a hub for high-altitude adventure, offering world-class blue-ribbon trout fishing on the river and thrilling whitewater rafting trips that depart from local outfitters just minutes from your campsite.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is particularly well-suited for active explorers who want to be the first through the park gates in the morning to beat the seasonal crowds. It appeals strongly to big-rig travelers who need reliable infrastructure and easy navigation that some interior park campgrounds might lack. If your ideal vacation involves returning from a long day of hiking or wildlife photography to a quiet spot with stunning river views and a comfortable, full-service setup, this is the destination for your Montana journey.

It's a spartan strip of gravel on the river. The prices were a bit steep for what is offered. I was headed south through the park so this was one of the few options.$133.00 per night for a back in. The staff is nice. I realize it's a tourist economy but when I go that way again I'll stay in one of the other parks down valley. Paradise Valley is worth the trip. Gardiner did nothing for me at all.

Great location to Yellowstone National Park with easy access to the North Entrance. Campground is well maintained and has quarter operated washer and dryers which is so great after long days of hiking around Yellowstone!

Pretty basic campground, great location right next to the entrance of Yellowstone park. The toilet & showers are very good, the laundry room is easy to use and they’ll change for coins up in the office if you need :) There’s also picnic table for each RV. **There’s no WiFi but there is cellular network reception.

Great location for Yellowstone, no hassle getting in and out of our site. We checked in late and left early. It was a great jumping off point for us. Hookups were great, sites were good size and we enjoy our stay!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We had a great experience tent camping at Yellowstone RV Park! The tent site was spacious and well-maintained, giving us plenty of room to relax. The bathrooms were clean and tidy, which is always a big plus. Our tent was near the river—it was a bit loud, but the sound made for a peaceful and restful night’s sleep. Highly recommend this spot for a comfortable and scenic camping experience!
