Some might say this is better than Brown County, and I agree! A beautiful lake and perfect for spotting fall colors. Plus, an extensive system of trails.

Yellowwood is one of my most favorite places to visit. It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you can enjoy a true nature experience. Serenity is easy to find here.

Went camping with my girlfriend at Yellowwood State Forest Park and it was amazing! The park is beautiful and the campgrounds are very nice, quiet and serene. We pitched our tent and had a nice BBQ and campfire. Our stay was a great deal of fun and we'll be back soon!

Wonderful place to visit! The forest offers a variety of trails—from the quick 0.5-mile High King climb to moderate loops like the 4.5-mile lake circuit and the 4-mile Scarce O’ Fat Trail, plus short interpretive walks and even the long Tecumseh Trail for those seeking more of a challenge. A truly rewarding spot for hikers—highly recommend!

Trees as far as you can see. A real nice sized lake. You can boat and fish and watch nature and camping. There is a real nice shelter house as well. Hunting is allowed on property. A license is required for hunting and fishing. There are several miles of trails. One of the trails is an historic one.

I love it. It would be nice if ppl wouldn't leave trash where they go these days this is every park not just here ;) campgrounds ...most people go to Brown county park rt next to this ... There is a lot more to offer at brown county. Can not get into the lake to swim it is fishing only.

Had a great time camping and enjoying the trails. We went towards the end of March, so there were not many campers. The only negative was early season so the water was not turned on yet. Hope to go again soon!

A very nice state forest. No one was around during my visit. Camp grounds looked good. I kayaked Yellow Wood Lake. According to the BFRO there have been two Bigfoot sightings here. I didn’t think he will be expecting me to sneak up in the yak, but sadly I had no sightings.

The campsites are awesome and well maintained. Hikes are also super fun. In my opinion, it has better hikes than Brown County State Park and its free admission. Campers are always respectful and super friendly. The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly. Genuinely my favorite place to go.

nice kayaking, looked like good fishing opportunities, especially closer to the end of the day. saw an eagle and turtle. bugs were super mild. some nice inlets to go out to. nice picnic area you can kayak to if you didn't park on that side of the lake. camped at brown county state park but brought our kayaks and canoe here.
