We stayed in the RV spots and it was not crowde which was nice. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Only negative was the prolific goats heads everywhere. Lots of birds and close to the river. Nice place.

We had a great stay at the Black Bear Motel in Howard. Friendly, helpful service and a quiet location. Convenient to nearby Salida too.

We were in the area for the weekend for a high school baseball tournament. Booked an RV Spot online. When I arrived the Park Host guided me to our spot and he was very friendly and informative about the park and area. Our spot was in a nice quiet location. The park WiFi was good, and our spot was well kept. We enjoyed our short stay and hope to come back in the future.

Had a good time at this rv park. The hosts were great and very helpful. The place seemed very safe. Only issue at the property, I found, was the limited Verizon wireless signal. And the wifi was ok but not great coverage. I feel like if they set up a few more routers to spread the connectivity bubble it would be a lot better. And the lastly the place smelled a little like a sewer when I first got there. Once I told the host he said he needed to treat the septic tank. After he did that the nasty smell went away. I was thinking it was someone’s sewer connection from their rv smelling the area up. Another great thing would be to have the rv parking spots have more gravel. I didn’t like the dirt everywhere when I was walking around my rv. When I showered for the first time in my outdoor tent setup. There was a ton of dirt shooting up from the ground as I was showering. I guess if it was gravel it wouldn’t have been as dusty. Overall a nice little place. Just wish I had better connectivity.

From the beautiful location, lovely rooms, and amazing hosts, Black Bear is the place to stay! Meagan and Jared were incredibly accommodating, and check in was so easy! The trails around the property make for a lovely walk, and the dog park is such an awesome idea!! You could enjoy a vacation here without ever having to leave the property. Can’t recommend enough!!

We stayed here with our RV and dogs. The dog area was a god-send, and the sites are well maintained with all hookups needed. The sewage and water access points were a little far but the host was super helpful in getting us setup by providing extensions. The location is beautiful with peaks all around. Only 15 mins from Salida. Highly recommend!

They will shut your water off without notification! The property managers Meaghan and Jared are only worried about making a buck. They are not worried about you or your family.! April can only come soon enough for their departure of the campground would be the best! All of us here can only hope and pray’ For normality once again, much less have this campground, cleaned and not blamed on others, because the property managers do not feel like doing anything ! Not only that when their dogs bite you, they will blame. It’s lucky you and the kids.!
