Great little state park with lots of great hiking trails and picnic areas. Two big campgrounds with water and electric Rv hookups as well. No sewer but there is a dump on site. Entrance has a gift shop too which is a plus.

Friendly, clean, easily accessible and beautiful location. Everything you want from a camp ground. It’s not particularly close to the heart of Tucson though, if that is what you are desiring. I wish we’d had more time to check out the park itself with hiking and such. The hook ups to dump the grey and black water in the park where basic but did the trick.

Beautiful Arizona state park with wonderful hiking trails. Campsites with water & electric, dump stations, very nice bathrooms/showers. Been coming here for several years ... just really love this park. Nice shopping & restaurants just across Oracle Road from the park.

Beautiful state park. Even though the yearly pass is pricey at 200$, it's worth it if you're a regular here. Has some of the best trails in all of Tucson, just wish they would signpost them a bit better, and maybe incorporate some of the unofficial trails. The volunteers have all been amazing, and I love the different events that they host, especially the nature program on Saturday morning, and their music by the mountains. They could improve by cleaning their toilets more often and maybe build another set of toilets by the Alamo canyon trail parking lot. Just watch out for the wildlife and be aware of your surroundings, and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time.

February 2026 - People get pretty excited about this State Park. Hiking and scenery is excellent! Spacious campsites and quiet? Go “anywhere” else. This State Park calls the Ringtail Camping Loop “Rustic” - I call it BS!!! Ringtail is a dirt overflow lot period. Campers packed in like sardines in a can. Shame on Catalina. You should remove half the sites in Ringtail and manage it. Another example of the money hungry State Park System. Generators allowed 8am-8pm!!! People start the generators early and the hosts do nothing. The exhaust stinks and the noise is obnoxious. The retirees love this campground because restaurants, Walmart and Petco are across the street (Oracle) LOL. We have traveled a LOT. This is not our idea of camping. Again, hiking is beautiful, just know what you are booking.

Absolutely love this State Park. It has it all for the adventures. So many hikes to pick from, for all fitness levels. Mountain biking trails. It's in a lush beautiful area oasis, but only short drive to all the aminaties Tuscon offers. A trip to the Biosphere 2 was great!! A drive up Mount Lemmon Hwy is incredible. So much to see and do.... Loved it, we will be back.

Clean facilities, easy parking, and help staff and volunteers at this park. I also appreciate the dog-friendliness. I love the variety of well-maintained trails that offer different levels of difficulty, length, and elevation gain. I spent about three hours in the park hiking with my dog.

This is a really nice park . It’s close to lots of hiking and biking trails there are lots of trees. The spots are large with plenty of privacy. Relax and cut loose for a while. The bathrooms are nice and clean. There is a shopping center with Walmart, movie theater and restaurants right across the street. And Tucson only a few minutes down the road. There is wildlife wondering through your campsite and plenty of room if you have pets. Just a nice park.

I love my little local spot. I love the spots in A but both sites are good. I like that checkout is 12 and they have 2 dump stations.

One of the nicer parks in AZ. Has nice big spots, plenty of privacy if you like to cut loose a little. It’s close to food and shopping. Beautiful trails to hike. Plenty of open space for your pets. Biking or walking your choice. Bathrooms are nice and clean. And wildlife walking through your campsite. Shame they had to raise the rate to 50 a night , not really worth it with no on site sewer or pool or anything to do like the parks that charge the higher price.

Beautiful desert hiking area. There are quite a few trails to hike. I just had a few hours so I hiked a 7 mile loop trail. You can see my video on YouTube @Tim’s Outdoor Adventures
