Centennial Park in Soldotna, AK: RV Camping Guide

This park is a great place to be. The only issues are when it is busy, the bathrooms run out of toilet paper at night because they are not checking them enough. The camp host also is a grumpy guy that always has a frown on his face. Wish they had a more pleasant couple hosting.

Always a great time fishing and camping here. However 10 out of 10 would not go swimming in the river at 2am and than doing it again almost immediately by slipping on the same rock while trying to get to the bank to leave in a soaking wet shame. The water was cold, current was enough to go down stream a foot or two. It wasn't exactly that fun the first time or the second time, got laughed at by my friends and family and than  was asked if I was ok in which I responded "yeah but my ego is kind of hurt"😂

We were here 2 nights end of May/beginning of June and almost had the park to ourselves. Geared toward fishing for sure but great, more wooded/private spots in the woods in back. Between 112 and 111 in back there's a boardwalk to the shore which is cool! Nice to have wooded sites compared to just a parking lot with side by side situations only and right in town! A moose spent the last evening and morning at the sites just next to us. Cute! Also a lot of river access and parking area. Tons of Bald Eagles at the river too.

We wanted to have a picnic here for memorial day, but we couldn't use a campsite. We could only use the pavilion. The pavilion had owl poop everywhere and a broken table. The campground was almost empty. I would completely understand if the campground was full, but as I said it was near empty.

This spot is beautiful for fishing, but the running of the park is very confusing. We found out that we were double charged after the first week of paying for the car AND the RV which was kind of a bummer. We finally found a camping spot after the weekend, and were able to move from the overflow parking lot (same price and very tight) to the actual site. Overall, great memories were made!

Stopped in to take a look at the campground on an off day as we were thinking of camping there in the future. The gentleman at the gate was kind and told us his boss does not allow people to drive through the campground at all, even to check it out. You won't have to worry about us camping there anytime in the future.

July12,2024.We stayed two nights This campground next to the Kenai River is very large. It can accommodate both Type A and Type B trailers. It has a beautiful environment and complete facilities. It has water and electricity. Each vehicle costs $30 per night. It's great for people who like salmon fishing. It takes two minutes to walk to the river. The water is clean and there are dedicated stairs to enter the river. The river is very fast, so be careful when fishing here and pay attention to safety👍👍👍

It's a first come, first pick campground so we drove around for about 5 minutes finding our perfect spot. It's a comfortable and safe environment, it wasn't loud, everyone was kind and nice and minded their own business. We loved our experience at this campground. We were also able to go to the kenai River just a couple minutes away from our tent.

Great trail right next to where we are staying in Solodtna! Nice 2+ mile walk

Very nice facility. Would love to give it 5 stars, but the fact I had to pay full price for my camper and my motorcycle killed the love.

It has many parking spots, alot of sights on the river/ boardwalks trail, and only gets super busy the month of July. Unfortunately no amenities exept a spot to fill water in the middle of the park. Used to have a sewage dump but no longer does. No electric hookups, so being a generator!

This really is one of the best places to wish in the world. The river is beautiful, the fish plentiful, and nature refreshing. The amenities for the prices you pay leave something to be desired (looking at you nasty bathrooms...at least you're wheelchair accessible). Overall an amazing place to visit and fish!
