I really don’t understand how people can leave this campground a 5 star review. It’s awful! The sites are small, unlevel and jammed together. There’s only a narrow single lane road around the loop. They have placed large rocks very close to the road making it exceptionally hard to maneuver a camper of any length. The biggest turn off is the large dumpster trash cans that are all over the road. The entire place reeks of the smell of trash and nasty vault toilets! To add to the misery you are right beside the very busy Hwy 89A going to Sedona so you get to listen to traffic, beating stereos and motorcycles! At least during our stay the campground wasn’t busy. When this place is full I can imagine it would be even more miserable!

Cave Springs is one of my absolute most favorite places in the whole world. Really. This part of Oak Creek is like a magical fairy land. It's my happy place. We come camping here every year, usually twice a year. Gorgeous.

Solid campground in Arizona. Like many campgrounds there are some great sites and some very close to each other.
But awesome spot north of Sedona and south of Flagstaff.
There is easy creek access that is accessible for children.
They have showers for $8 for 8 minutes, firewood for $10, and a small store for ice and stuff.
I noticed the staff did a great job of cleaning each site and the restrooms were also kept very clean.

I spent two nights at this very green oasis in Sedona. The abundance of shade provided by the pines and the nearby creek was particularly enjoyable. However, I found the $8 showers and the pit toilets to be quite inconvenient.  I had no negative experiences with the camp hosts, who promptly checked me in upon my arrival.   Lots of families are here, and for the most part, quiet times were adhered to. Also, be aware that there are no grocery stores nor anywhere to dine out nearby.  I would probably stay here again but away from the loop near the road as the trees do not do a good job at insulating the vehicle noise.

I’ve been going to Cave Spring campground since I was a kid and you’ll never find a more beautiful location. Easy access to secret swimming holes, a difficult but rewarding hike up the mountain from both sides of the campground, friendly and helpful staff, and large campsites.
The two reasons is not a 5-star for me anymore (I went just after Labor Day): 1) there is a bit of a skunk problem now and 2) there SO many staff and/or permanent residents that in the middle area you feel like you’re in an RV park and not a campground.

Great campground. So many fun to things to do. Swim in the creek, look for crawdads, play in the green belt. Nice camp hosts. Decent bathrooms. Great location. Reserve at recreation.gov or get a first come spot! Took some wedding photos here and loved them.

I am only posting this to warn campers that Site C2 got tagged badly by a skunk. I didn't see it spray and didn't see them, but I could smell a bit of skunk on the leafy foliage of the trail to the bathroom, and later after sundown it smelled like the skunk sprayed the parking space itself and the tree next to it.  It stank so bad even with the windows closed that I had to evacuate.  And C1 is parked right next to C2 so C1 is covered in skunk also.  I also did not like how upon arrival I was blocked from driving through the first come first serve loops to visually choose a campsite.  Had I been allowed to do that, I would not have chosen the C2 area, due to the smell of skunk noticeable upon arrival once I walked to the bathroom.  But the roads are narrow with lots of trees and people so I can understand trying to limit vehicles driving through. But they could have scooted me through on their golf cart.  I think I read a review about this place having skunks.  I can't find it but I think it was for site C2 also.  I think they ought to trap them or something.  It was unbearable and made me nauseous. Even 2 hours later, nauseous. The shower also wasn't long enough.  8 minutes for $8.  There wasn't enough pressure and flow to get very clean in 8 minutes.  I expected twice as much total water in the shower than what it actually released.  The first minute is wasted on waiting for hot water, then 4-5 minutes is just trying to get the shampoo out of your hair.  Leaves 2 minutes for everything else.  And of course the skunk sprayed the campsite right after my shower.  Not much else to say, bathroom was clean, shower was clean, camp table was gross, reservation system is still bad as always.  I think there should only be one reservation fee for a stay even if part of the stay is at 1 campsite and the rest of the stay is at another campsite, which happens due to booking issues.

The area is well shaded, great size. Easy to locate campsite. Creek is a short easy hike. Showers are available from 8am-8pm $8 for 8 minutes but with one token I was able to shower myself & 2 kids with still time remaining. Convenient store on site open 7am-7pm pricey but if you need something it’s there. Make sure to check online of you can have campfire as it’s not always an option due forest regulations and will need propane to cook.

100/5 stars. Bathrooms were the cleanest you can imagine, did not smell AT all. Campsites are widely spaced apart, lots of room for kids to play in the woods. Everyone there was quiet and lovely. We stayed in A1 and would recommend it for a tent. The only sites I wouldn't recommend are the ones right next to a bathroom, you'll get a lot more passer-byers.

We decided to stay at Cave Springs Campground because of the great reviews and beautiful scenery. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We reserved campsite D19 and had to stare at a junkyard of a camp post the whole time. The park is packed beyond capacity and quiet hours are not enforced. Think twice before booking, we will not be returning.

Arrived Wednesday morning through the weekend and only 5 sites were available due to reservations. So reports of getting there early was no joke. The Campground Full sign was posted Wednesday afternoon due to reservations.
Beautiful campground! 82 sites at 5600 feet with 6 loops (A,B,C,D,E and F) Loops C and E are farthest from the road noise. The showers open 7a-6p cost $4 for an 8 minute shower token. The office/store sells sundries, drinks, ice, wood and accepts credit cards.
Follow the trail by site F10 and go along the ledge to the swimming hole!
While there, a flash flood washed over the bridge. No one in or out until the bridge was cleared a few hours later. The staff was on top of the situation the entire time and responsive to all matters of a large campground.
This is one of the best campgrounds I have been to of the 165+ over the last 4 years. Definitely returning.

This campground is absolutely gorgeous and is alongside Oak Creek. It's about a mile from the West Fork trail. The bathrooms are clean and the sites are decently sized. There are multiple camp hosts and even a little store to buy treats from. It's a very popular campground and so it can be full quite often. Best to make a reservation ahead of time!
