Death Valley/Furnace Creek

We were looking for a stop to limit our time in the car on a 3 week road trip and happened on this place. It was affordable. Comfortable. Service was great. When the pump in our washer failed, we were given the key to an empty cabin so we could finish washing our clothes. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower was great. And of course you could walk anywhere in ranch. My two pieces of advice would be to go to the pool in the afternoon/early evening when there is more shade and to order an omelette at the breakfast if you have texture issues with eggs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at The Ranch at Death Valley was absolutely amazing and was, without question, the highlight of our three-week road trip through the western United States. We stayed in one of the cottages, and it was perfect. It was immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and located in a peaceful setting that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the park. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower had excellent water pressure, and having a washer and dryer right in the cottage was an unexpected bonus that was especially appreciated during such a long trip. The entire property is beautiful, and every detail made our stay feel special. We truly hated to check out and wished we could have stayed longer. If you’re visiting Death Valley, don’t hesitate to stay here. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and memorable place to stay.

June1, 2026 We stayed in the one bedroom cottages and they were very clean. It has a washer and dryer which was a sweat surprise! Microwave and fridge were also available. The best part was the service. They hand delivered anything we needed like extra towels, pillow, coffee and such. When we showed up, the attendant upgraded us from a room to a cottage! It was perfect! Great service and the best place to be when it’s over 100 degrees outside! WiFi is available as well. The gas station is right next door as well at the visitors center. They have a pool but we didn’t use it. We bought the bed and breakfast package and the breakfast had so many options! Delicious.

One of the few places to stay right within Death Valley.. it’s an old property but maintained very well .. size of this property is good , we stayed in cottage which was a comfortable stay.. they have multiple restaurant and open area to relax .. we stayed for two nights and place for clean and green. They have all the required common amenities making it more comfortable .. once you are inside after your tired excursion you have all your option to chill. Just want to have a walk you have olace to do that . 2 restaurant plus one icecream parlor and coffee shop. We had all our meal at this place.

This place is amazing, literally a desert oasis! The staff have all been really helpful friendly through out my visit to furnace creek. I would like to give you shoutout to the folks down at main Buffett which has been dinner for the past 3 nights now. Would especially like to thank William and Amanda for making it what it has been. Even when it was really busy Amanda still was making her rounds making sure everyone was taken care of and had what they needed. Then William was so personable, made sure you knew your options and even shared a bunch of interesting facts about the ranch and surrounding area with some other guests and I last night I thought were pretty cool!

You can’t beat the location, and parking is easy and convenient. The staff were genuinely friendly and made the stay feel welcoming. On the downside, food selection was very limited, and while the rooms were clean, they feel quite outdated. The low water pressure and noisy window AC units are worth knowing about — light sleepers should definitely bring earplugs. A decent base for exploring Death Valley, but temper your expectations on the amenities.

Probably acceptable if you pay c.$150–200 per night off peak, but we went during spring break and it was around $400, which is not worth it. That said, there is little alternative, which is part of the problem with dynamic pricing. Perhaps this review would read differently at half the price. We had a “deluxe” room. It had a very odd smell, possibly sewage, and there were quite a few flies that I let out when we entered the room, before my wife saw. There was also mould on the curtains. I did not complain as it was only one night and life is too short. The female on reception was very transactional, borderline rude, and I was not prepared to have the battle. Whatever happened to good old-fashioned Western hospitality? Positives - the AC was cool (though noisy) and the food was acceptable, the guy serving the bar in the main restaurant was a legend. The location is, of course, excellent, but I am reviewing the hotel here. If you have to stay there, I am sure it is fine, but I will not be returning.

This is a great location for exploring Death Valley during an extended stay. The casitas are mini-duplex units with a shared front porch. At the end of February it was very pleasant to sit on the porch with morning coffee. Cafeteria buffet is edible and has a good variety of choices but you might prefer the Last Kind Words Saloon food for dinner. Reservations are a must because of space. Gift store also has a useful selection of convenience store breakfast and snack items. Gas station and Furnace Creek visitors center are right next door. I will definitely stay here again both because of its central location in Death Valley and the comfortable casitas.

Delightful property, truly an oasis. Lots of spots to sit and relax. Yummy morning buffet to set your tummy for the day. Easy to travel from site to site in a relaxing manner. Some easy hikes for older folks. Comfy bed to dream of your travels. We’d love to return again!

The Ranch at Death Valley is an exceptional retreat in one of the most unique landscapes on Earth. The location is breathtaking — you feel surrounded by the vast beauty and silence of the desert. The room was spotless, comfortable, and reflected the rustic charm of the region perfectly. The staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Having an on-site restaurant and reliable services made our stay effortless after long desert excursions. Overall, The Ranch at Death Valley combines comfort, great service, and an unforgettable setting. A truly perfect base for exploring Death Valley — highly recommended!

10/10 recommend! There’s no better, more convenient location for your trip to Death Valley National Park. Service from every staff member was great - everyone we saw smiled and said hello. Kenya at the front desk was especially helpful - she went above and beyond in making sure our stay and room was comfortable! Food at the saloon was fantastic and far exceeds what you’d normally find in a national park. Love the small town feel of this tiny community. 100% recommend!

Clean comfortable room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Decent shower and plenty of towels. If you can manage steps, get a second floor room as the footsteps overhead are loud. Location is outstanding for exploring the park. Rent an electric bike onsite and have fun! Buffet lunch and dinner were very good and reasonably priced, but they weren't always punctual with service time. The resort extras such as pool, tennis, golf, etc. appeared well maintained but we didn't use any of them. Downside? No microwave and very small refrigerator in the room. Cocktails and beverages were very expensive as was the convenience store. The coffee service in the room was substandard. I'm not sure if it was an oversight, but our room lacked beverage glasses in the bathroom and flatware for the coffee/tea service. No way to stir in cream or sugar. All the problems were minor, so I would definitely recommend staying here. You can't beat the location or atmosphere. Staff are very friendly.

I took one star off due to our first room being next to a main door and the ice machine. We were woken up all night by the slamming and vibration of the main door shutting as guests came and went. And the ice machine at all hours. We also had lots of flies in that room. The following morning we were moved to a second floor room which was much quieter, over looking the golf course. Beautiful views. The room is basic but lovely and clean. The ranch is wonderful. It's like a mini western town and there is so much attention to detail. The staff are nice and happy. We missed out on the horses due to going out of season but the place is still worth going to. Tennis course, swimming pool, historic museum, ice cream 50s style parlor, pub/ restaurant in western style. Breakfast suit. Shops. It's a relaxing holiday. And with amazing views especially at night. The experience is amazing there.

This is a great place to stay right in the middle of Death Valley National Park. The location is prime. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is so nice! And we enjoyed having some places to eat right at the resort since this park is so remote. The store had great souvenirs and sundry items, too! Highly recommend this lodging!

If you are looking to visit our National Park - Death Valley this is the place to stay. Nice rooms, a lot of amenities and great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room temps can only be set to 74 so if you like it really cold to sleep it may be a little uncomfortable however their ceiling fans are amazing. The cottages are super nice and comfortable. Great location to get to the areas you are looking to visit in Death Valley and it's right next door to the Visitor Center. We would stay here again.
