The park is very quiet with lots of space. However the management are rude and disrespectful. "Chris" is unsympathetic and doesn't have good customer skills. Lots of our neighbours seem to feel the same, as they all leave in a hurry. The staff mow at odd times and shut off water frequently (with warning, but still). The drainage is awful, it floods with the smallest of storms and the wind has gotten worse since they began cutting down the trees that were hiding the park. With the trees gone the county road is far too loud and it feels like a fishbowl. I wish it was the same as it was four months ago, unfortunately it's gone downhill.

We too stayed here for 5 months and throughly enjoyed our time while Jane was in charge. Once Chris came back things were no longer pleasant. Bombarded all guests with emails and threatened us that if we didn't clean up after ourselves in the showers, we would be punished and only allowed to use during business hours. After Jane left , the showers became increasingly dirty-they need to be CLEANED -- all scummy. We loved the park as it was not the feeling of being in a campground -beautiful greenery. Chris needs to learn how to communicate in a more friendly way and stop scolding us like children. She has no clue what southern hospitality is-as a matter of fact there was no hospitality. She too busy riding around in her golf cart with her clipboard looking for things to complain about!

This park is run by Escapees but all can stay here. This is a very good park if you do not care about being super close to the beach in southern AL. It's not super close to recreation or shopping; It is out in the countryside and is about a 15 minute drive to Fairhope for shopping, about 20 minutes to the outlet mall in Foley and about 25 - 30 min to the beach at Gulf Shores. The folks working and staying there are friendly, and we were encouraged to join in many activities at the club house by several people who live there on a seasonal or full time basis. We stayed here for 6 weeks last spring after the RV park near the beach where we stayed for the winter jumped up way too high in pricing for our budget. RV storage is available (for Escapees only). Full hook up sites in the park - elec (30 amp) are included in rates, payment will be made in advance, and reservations are now recommended. Pricing still good, but not as low as before since elec is included - also there is a surcharge if you need 50 amp. The place is very clean and most sites have trees. Most of the sites are on grass. The sites run north/south and have plenty of room. Satellite systems work fine; ATT phones work fine; Verizon is less strong but worked so so. You can wash your rig and even fix your car or give it an oil change at a "garage" on site. Summerdale, AL – Rainbow Plantation –great Escapees park. No free wifi or cable but FHUs. Long, large back in sites, shaded in most; some 50 amp, some 30 amp.
