Fox Run Campground & RV Park in Palmer, AK

We stayed for two nights and during the second day the owners and the native lady were very rude to us and my daughter. The man yelled at my daughter saying “you better clean up!!” And also the native lady was pushing my daughter asking how old is my daughter and my daughter said that she was waiting for me.  the native lady kept saying where is your mom. When all the while I was right behind her when we were walking to the bathroom/shower. Being very rude! Never have I ever experienced bad customer service like this before and that was just super disrespectful and every time we use the restroom /shower we ALWAYS clean up after ourselves and even people before us we clean up. I would say don’t come there. Very bad disrespect to their guests. Pissed me off!!!

Fox Run exceeded my expectations from beginning to end. The campground is clean, peaceful, and exceptionally well maintained. The bathrooms were spotless and always well stocked, the laundry room was clean and convenient, and everything was thoughtfully laid out. You really don't want for anything during your stay. It's obvious the owners and staff take great pride in keeping the campground welcoming and comfortable.

The on-site restaurant was another pleasant surprise. The food was delicious, and it was so nice to have a great meal just steps from my campsite.

What truly made my stay memorable, though, was the hospitality. Desi was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, accommodating, easy to talk to, and genuinely cared about making sure I had a great experience. As a solo traveler, I arrived with a few understandable concerns about being in bear country. Desi immediately put my mind at ease and even loaned me bear spray for the night so I could relax and get a good night's sleep. That simple act of kindness meant far more than she probably realizes.

If you're looking for a campground with outstanding facilities, a great restaurant, and people who truly care about their guests, I highly recommend Fox Run. Thank you, Desi, and everyone at Fox Run, for making me feel so welcome. I would happily stay here again the next time my travels bring me through the area.

Plenty of space and options. The restaurant right within the camp ground was a huge plus point. Wash rooms were super clean and had all the necessary stuff.

Lake was great and was just 100 yards walkable from the campsites.

Only drawback was that there were too many mosquitoes when we visited. Huge ones in fact.

Would recommend to take the sites on the farther side to avoid noise from the freeway.

Spots are superrr tiny for the prices, very crammed together. We left for the day to attend an event we were a vendor at, and got back around 5:30. Pulled around the loop to turn our trailer around, slowly and polite around the people and loose dogs, to then get yelled at by an old man saying not to drive through here without being to the office first. We’ve been here two days! Wouldn’t come back unfortunately:/

We have spent two whole summers here. We helped out while we were here, and got to know Desi, Kenny, and Shirley, and some other regular campers. And made new friends from other places that stopped in. There was never a dull moment. A lot of laughs and felt like we were among family. We won't be there this summer because we won't be camping that much since we bought a house. We will still be stopping in to say hello when we can.

The food is traditional and delicious.  A surprise gem in a vacant area. Will definitely be back.

I've heard sooo many good things about this place.
I've met part of the family that owns this place and I can say is, I can't wait to camp there. Very sweet people and just "REAL" Salt of the Earth type of folks.
Remember, this is a business and a luxury for our 1st world problems lol ...so let's be respectful of this place and show the owners the same respect we demand.

Stayed the night in our RV. Septic was on the wrong side, so treated it as a dump station. Location seemed nice. Nice lake, but couldn't stay long enough to make use of all the facilities including a Chinese restaurant.

Fox Run is conveniently located by the Glenn and Parks Hwy interchange near Matanuska Lake. Several sites overlook the lake, and there is access to the state park and trail systems. There's a small restaurant that has really good fried rice. A downside is that it's right on the highway and very noisy.

Decent campground it just happened to be in a construction area at the time. Price was a bit high at $87 for 4 adults. Asked for full hookups and was shown sites with and without, but the prices were the same. There was a mixup with the site we chose but the office resolved it. Site wasn't level but we made it work. Lake was nice and swimmable. Full hookups, wifi is spotty, laundry and showers need cleaning.

I visited back in early May with family. We only stopped by for a quick lunch break as it was our first day arriving in Alaska. It was very comfortable, kid friendly and cozy like. The food was delicious, the portion sizes were great as well. I would love to visit again when given the chance.

Friendliest staff ever. Our site had a wonderful view of the lake. We enjoyed our time and all the amenities. Clean with laundry and shower facilities too. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this campground. They answer your call, they have hot showers, they’re reasonably priced, they are very close to hiking trails, and are the most attentive accommodating people you will ever meet. If you are looking to camp, RV or tents, don’t waste your time calling around, just go to fox run.

Best campground ever! And the owners are so nice! This is going to be my go-to campground every time I’m in town.

Cleanist campground in Alaska!  Been traveling around the state for a few weeks and this is a gem!  Great view, clean bathrooms and showers are spotless!  Definitely a spot to stop!

Very friendly, clean and neat. Our site had a wonderful view of the lake. Family and pet friendly.  Highly recommend!
