Homer Baycrest KOA in Homer, AK - Scenic RV Camping

If you are tent camping do NOT stay here. The tent sites are on gravel pads right next to the highway, the bathrooms and the kids ball pit. That combo made for 3 sleepless nights. The last night we were lucky and there was an empty cabin we could move into just to have a quiet night sleep. Putting tent sites near the road makes no sense. The bathrooms were nice and the grounds have beautiful views.

Baycrest KOA was fantastic!! Stayed here on a previous trip 11 years ago and boy what an improvement, the sites are great, especially on the bluff, full hookups, the cleanest shower, bathroom, laundry facilities since we have been traveling for 14 days!! Had a battery issue and the owner provided a ride to the auto parts store just down the road, Thank You!! , staff at registration were excellent and very helpful, it's a short distance from the spit but worth the drive for the view overlooking Cook Inlet, would highly recommend staying at Baycrest, amazing campground!!

We’ve stayed here over the last few years and absolutely love it. The views are incredible, the ground and facilities are great, and Shelly and her team are fantastic.

Always welcoming, super helpful, and very accommodating.

Anyone looking to camp in Homer this is the best campground - can’t recommend enough!

Stayed in the cabin 1 and there were no blackout curtains. It's very hard to sleep with sunlight 24 hrs a day. So beware if you rent this cabin you will get no sleep. There also was only a very small heater that cycled on and off and it was very cold at night. Nice place but wouldn't recommend for those reasons

We were greeted with incredible views the minute we pulled into the campground! We originally had wanted to book a site at Heritage campground on the spit, but they were full so my boyfriend booked here. I am SO glad he did! We had such a wonderful experience here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The campground and facilities were always clean (they have a big laundry room, 4 separate shower rooms, additional restrooms, and a dish washing station). The site we had (#12) was a back-in patio site and was overlooking the bluffs and had incredible views. Our trailer is 34ft and we had plenty of room at the site, including space to park the truck next to our trailer. The site had a clean grill provided, BBQ tools, propane tank, a firepit, and a table with 4 very comfortable chairs. We had full hookups at this site too. We stayed for 4 nights but could have easily stayed much longer. I had to work the last day we were there and the wifi was strong and reliable.
I'm a light sleeper...so was very grateful this campground was very quiet. If you want to party and get loud...this isn't the campground for you. But if you're looking for a clean, quiet, beautiful camping experience...this is the one! We will 100% be back!

Baycrest KOA is by far the best one!
Staff is very friendly, grounds as well as bathrooms a laundry are SPOTLESS! And the views are out of this world! I would highly recommend to stay there.

If you want rude people and like to be rushed and continuously bothered, this is your spot. If you want to enjoy Homer, there’s places in the spit that are a million times better than this place. Good reviews are from friends or people who just used this place to spend a night and kept going.

This is such a great KOA. The staff is amazing, the campground is amazing, the bathrooms have heated floors and are very clean, showers are great, laundry room is huge with plenty of washers and dryers ($4.00 to wash and $3.00 to dry), and the view is fantastic. We had a back in patio site on the bay. Our site came with a BBQ, table and chairs and a firepit on a concrete pad. Wifi was really good. I wish our schedule allowed us to stay longer. We stayed 3 nights. It was quiet even though the campground sites along the main highway. There is a nice playground. They have plenty of tent sites as well as a cabin and some bunkhouses. If you are heading to Homer, this is the place to stay. Thanks for a fantastic memory.

This is a very very nice KOA.  Up on top of a cliff overlooking the water just a few miles north of Homer.  I stayed in the bunkhouse that sleeps 8.  It is conveniently right next to the bathrooms.  The shower facilities are first class and are possibly the best showers I have seen at any KOA.

Best KOA I've ever been to and we've stayed at several.  The bathrooms were immaculate.  The showers were hot.  And the view from our site was unbeatable!

As soon as we pulled in we asked to stay two more days on top of our three. Although we had to move we couldn't have been happier as we went from the site right next to the park (very convenient for the kids) to the lower portion where the view was stunning. These sites are well maintained and the new wash house with laundry is clean and inviting.

The service was friendly and engaging while the store is well stocked. And if you need anything they don't have there is a gas station right next door that has a convenience store and a diner open for breakfast and lunch. We ate there on the last day and it was a great fill me up before hitting the road.

The location is amazing as it is outside Homer proper and opposite side of the spit which makes it feel a little more like camping although it's not too far to drive in.

Would recommend this KOA and definitely would return our next trip to the Peninsula!

This site is amazing. The service was great and helpful (offered to drive my firewood back for me). The bath house was spacious clean and felt new. There is a nice space to wait and play games while doing laundry. The view is just incredible. Convenient location, a decent amount of room to back an rv in. Fairly quiet for the amount of campers. Very well kept grounds. The bathrooms were cleaned quite often.

Five star for an unexpected hole in the wall burger spot. Our AirBnB was right around the corner so we had a quick takeaway meal here one night. Unexpectedly delicious burger meal and some homemade cinnamon rolls. Hard to find good food for cheap these days but got it done at. Baycrest!

Cleanest showers in homer,better hurry , six minutes and call ahead staffing is spottyy

The ice creams bomb cuz it's Tillamook and everything else is really overpriced the food from their Deli kind of sucks cuz it's really overpriced and it's not satisfying

Great place, spent a week here...kids loved playing on the boat...staff was super helpful, and camp host was a great guy...the only down side was the lack of staff at the store which resulted in limited hours....otherwise 5 stars!

We stayed here with family for our first visit ever to Alaska. The view was absolutely breathtaking. I couldn’t get enough of it. The gas station on site was wonderful with a little restaurant attached. The food was great. On top of it, there was an employee, Hailey, in the KOA gift shop that I was talking to about all the wild rhubarb growing around here. I’m from Florida and rhubarb doesn’t grow in the south. Hailey went home and brought me a large bag of rhubarb to take home with me!!! She is amazing and a breath of fresh air in this world where going above and beyond seems to be few and far between. Thank you Hailey for making our stay that much better.
