Lake Minden RV Resort

Location is what some might consider out in the sticks. But that adds to the attraction. The park surrounds a lake that is stocked for private paid fishing. I do not stay in the cabins, but they look fine from the outside. The A section has spaces that are a bit length constrained, but nice for width with picnic table and BBQ for charcoal grilling. I do like the amount of mature trees that help provide much appreciated shade over the RV. This helps with cooling the unit so much more than no shade in direct sun. A major draw for section A would be the full hookups. A ligation might be the 30amp power in this section. But it does seem to be well maintained with good connections and breakers. Water pressure is good with just under 60psi per my regulator. Any more and it might cause a problem with inside plumbing on some RV's. Always use a regulator on any water connection to a RV!! Some spaces are very close to the cabins that make for a tight width site. The sites away from the cabins are much wider to make a nice site. They have a coin operated laundry with easy access. It also has nice shower house with the desired double curtains. A back section has nice tent camping area that in summer time is well used with large area and green grass. The grass sections are a high light of the park beyond the lake. The other RV section has the large camp sites, again under the tree canopy for a lot of spaces. These are large enough to set up even larger RV's plus park another vehicle. The down side is they do not have sewer connections like in section A. Another tent section on the east side of the lake looks very nice. It is tucked in under the trees to give great experience with shade. As one tours the site, the amount of grass areas is apparent. Lots of locations for games like volleyball and even football or a baseball game. On east side there is a very large area covered with grass next to a section of vineyard. Beyond camping, the lake is another big attraction. It has some docs with rental paddle boats. Many attractive locations around the lake to get in some fishing. It is a private lake that requires a fishing pass from the office. No state fishing license used or required. Being the outdoors around water, you will enjoy a number of different bird species for those that like birding. The area has the usual amount of bugs associated with non moving water. More so around evening after sun starts going down.

Big change from the 1980s and 90s when I took my children and went with my parents. Now that I’m older, I took my grown children along with my brother and his family and my sister and her family. Everyone over the age of 21 except for two small children, but with that being said, we had a blast. There was so much stuff for the little ones to do the young adults to do and us now grandparents to do. Cottages were clean, fully stocked, workers were very helpful, answered all our questions reminded us of activities. Very easy to get there from our house on and off the freeway. We will definitely be going back.

The front area when pulling in seems really nice, the area we were put was not maintained. There was animal poop everywhere in our spot. Just not nice at all. We may try it again when in the area if we can stay up near the offices and pool. But I do not recommend the back lot.

I had an awesome time at Lake Minden Thousand Trails! The bathrooms were clean, which was a major plus. The lake was beautiful, and there were tons of fun activities to do. Plus, the staff was really friendly!

Awesome park in a quiet area. We stayed in their cabins for 2 nights and our children had a blast watching the wildlife in the pond, playing at the playground, and running with our dog at the dog park. The cabin was very clean when we got there and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely be planning another trip here again soon!

Thousand Trails Lake Minden is truly a hidden gem for anyone looking to camp, relax, and reconnect with nature. The lakefront views are beautiful, the grounds are well-maintained, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it easy to unwind. Whether you’re staying in an RV, tent camping, or just visiting for the day, the scenery and serenity here are hard to beat. What really sets Lake Minden apart is the staff. Every team member I’ve encountered has been kind, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. You can tell they care about the park and the people who visit it. Their friendliness and helpfulness create a welcoming environment that makes you want to come back again and again. If you're looking for a great camping spot with wonderful staff and a relaxing lakeside setting, Lake Minden is definitely the place to be.

We always have a wonderful stay at Thousand Trails Lake Minden! This park is incredibly family- and kid-friendly, which made our stay even better. The playground and mini golf were big hits, and it was so nice having safe spaces where the kids could play outside freely without us constantly worrying. The lake adds a peaceful, relaxing feel to the campground, and the grounds are well maintained and clean. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and helpful during our stay. It’s a great place for families, especially those traveling with kids, as well as long-term RVers looking for a comfortable and safe environment. We truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!

Well, lots to be said about this campground. First, the assistant manager was very helpful with me when an entitled woman decided to remove my laundry from the machine. Thank you for your help. The staff here are great, the campground could use some TLC. Far too many potholes on the path around the lake. The laundry needs a plumber to install proper drainage so it doesn't flood. The lake itself is rather muddy, and the fish consist of Catfish, Carp, and Small mouth Bass. The park hardly had any sewer sites so be prepared to use public bathrooms or dump stations. I have stayed here 3 times and the water has been turned off for at least a day during all 3 visits which I found odd. Park has too many people on the verge of homeless staying at it, these people bouncing back and forth between the local thousand trails parks around. Like that's not what the parks were designed for and it shouldn't be allowed. Outside of that most sites are 30 amp. The grounds are fairly well kept, bathrooms are clean, overall 4 out of 5 stars.

Reading other reviews, It looks like they've been trying really hard to improve the appearance of Lake Mindon campground. I was impressed with how clean and neat everything was. The common ground areas were well mowed and maintained. The miniature golf area was in excellent shape. The lodge was neat and clean and well stocked. The restroom in section A, where there is full hookups, was a little old, but clean. The restroom in section D, where there is only electric and water, was in excellent shape, including the big showers. I would have no problem using those showers or restroom. Next time I come to visit, I will stay in section D because there's a little more room between the campsites. Section A is a little tight but it's closer to all the amenities, such as the lodge, golf and boat dock.

If you don't want to be a buffet for mosquitoes, please save yourself and your kids. Stay away from this place. Update after 4days, my friend that I invited to camp with us just went to urgent care today, because of the insect bites she got from this place is not getting better, and the doctor said it was from a flea not mosquitoes. So yeah they better do something about this infested place.

Lake Minden is a nice park, with nice staff, and RVers. I definitely recommend visiting. A couple items to be aware of. Water pressure is very low which is not necessarily a bad thing because your saving on water and your tanks don't full up so fast. I recommend keeping water in your fresh tank as a backup. They did have to turn the water off for 3 hours but the staff literally came door to door the day before preparing everyone in advance and even left a note if you weren't home. So everyone had the opportunity to prepare and fill your tanks if needed. Secondly, there are LOTS of mosquitoes!!! Not the parks fault but bring your bug spray, mosquito net, and any type of repellent because you won't be able to stay outside for long. One recommendation is to mow the grassy areas between sites because mosquitos love tall grass. My wifi signal was good and was able to switch from TMobile to Starlink only because my site had trees and I would have had to place my dish in the middle of the road or across from my site. I chose neither because I did not want vehicles driving over my cord which another RVer chose to do.....yikes.... I believe most or all sites are 30 amp. The class A across from me said his was 30 amp. Electric was good. Looks like they are are replacing pedestals because mine was brand new. They have paddle boats to rent but due to the numerous mosquitos it would have been very difficult. Lake Miden is truly a nice park, they were full the whole time I was visiting, close to shopping, and Walmart delivers as well. Looking forward to see what other things they add to the park. Happy and safe travels 🚌

This place was a nightmare for us. There was 2 Hispanic, 1 white and 1 black person staying together .The lady said she was the assistant manager. We booked our stay through thousand trails. She locked the bathrooms, told us we were unable to charge our phones on the property, she refused us the right to cook even though there was a grill on every campsite. A white couple was however allowed to cook on their own personal grill not using what the property gave for us! We had bought their fishing license for $8. She came over and told my son(Hispanic) and a black man who was another guest that fishing wasn’t allowed. They both showed their permits and they were in a fishing area she said she makes the rules and couldn’t fish. However it was posted no fishing on the dock! A white man was fishing there. She said nothing to him or asked him to move! Or even asked for his license!!! It was very obviously that we were being treated differently than the other white guests! I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. A very sad experience!!! It’s 2025 and people are still racist…

This park had a lovely grassy area by the lake with a couple, nice outdoor amenities. Unfortunately, they had a dumpster across from the site that was overflowing onto the ground. We endured the flies for our two day stay. It was so bad, we couldn't spend anytime outdoors and everytime we opened the front door, the flies came in. It was unsanitary, and really ruined the experience. Spoke to two of the staff members about it, but they seemed unconcerned. Apparently this is an ongoing problem as there were other sites with outdoor fly traps. An additional pickup day should be called in by the management responsible for this campground. Consider relocating the dumpster to the other end of the parking area, away from camper sites.
