The site was clean, supplied garbage cans, level, & full hookups. Plenty of beautiful grounds to walk our dogs on the fairgrounds too. Wish the exit gate was auto with a code though.

4 star overall for location and value. Great location and reasonable price. Nice people running the place and helpful. Big ding for having shared electricity hook ups, water and sewer dump. Each shared electricity has only a single 30 amp and single 50 amp - the guy next to me got there first and took the 50 amp I also needed to power my coach. I had to use 30 amp which wasn't enough to power everything on my coach and couldn't use the generator at night leaving me with inadequate power and loss of some functionality. If it were Summer I would have asked to be moved assuming there was another spot with 50 amp.

This is an affordable campground in a fantastic location. Pros: full hookups, bathroom and showers available, great location, great price, secure Cons: it’s a parking lot, literally. Grass is sparse. It’s under the flight path for the Monterey Regional Airport, which isn’t terribly busy but has the daily 6:00 am flight. Those planes are pretty loud. We have yet to park in a level spot. The mid: it borders a golf course, so free golf balls every once in a while? It also borders the fairgrounds, so it can get noisy/busy. Oh, and there are a few cats too. You can’t beat the price, and it’s quiet when it needs to be quiet. Love that it’s a “dark park,” so you have to arrive before sunset.

first rv park, firstime rv'r everyone was so helpful and accomodating and answering what were likely "silly" questions if I'm ever back this way would definitely stay

It’s all about the location, plus the best price I’ve found in the area. The park itself is nothing to talk about, although it’s clean. It’s basically a gravel lot with hookups. Sites are pretty close and some may require sewer extensions. I imagine it gets a little dusty during the hot summer months but it wasn’t too bad. Because it’s close to the airport and a busy street there is noise from both, so a white noise machine is important. We were near the back gate and weren’t told they open it every day for RV’s to depart, although they did mention construction trucks would be going in and out but they would close it. It was open all day long the first day and we were concerned about theft from anyone just walking by. I called them about it and they were much better after that. I will say the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We’d stay there again, since we usually only stay for a week.

We recently stayed at Monterey County Fair and Event Center RV Park and had a positive overall experience. The booking process was quick and easy, which made planning stress-free. I have a medical condition, and the staff was very accommodating—they placed us in a nice, shady spot that made our stay much more comfortable. That level of thoughtfulness really stood out. This isn’t a destination-style campground with activities—it's more of a straightforward place to park your trailer and rest for the night. It’s located next to a golf course, so you might notice a few stray golf balls around, and it’s also near an airport, so you’ll occasionally hear planes overhead. Overall, it served exactly what we needed, and we would definitely stay here again. Great option if you’re looking for a convenient, no-frills place to park and sleep.

Historic venue, a bit run down...but they try! 1967... famous for the Monterey Internatiinal Pop Festival where The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Janis Joplin, The Who, and Otis Redding (to name a few) appeared before they became the legendary icons they'd become. Today it's still hosts the famous Monterey Jazz Festival, California Roots Music and Arts festival... The Monterey County fair and many other events, both public and private. The one star loss is merely because it is an old facility and hasn't been improved upon in many years. Still a fun and safe venue!

We had a great time today at the Special Kids Connect event that was held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. There were lots of information booths, games with prizes, and resources. Even a fire truck was on hand to let kids explore it.

We were there for the Monterey Jazz Festival. Great venue. The Arena afforded great views & sounds. The indoor venues, strangely, had not ventilation, and became intolerable, if not downright dangerous. Fair range of food service outlets. Some (like the Cajun outfit) were clearly mom & pop and unable to cope, but then, why not? At least they were there, and very apologetic when unable to fulfill the jambalaya ordered and accepted 30 minutes previously!

First time here for Cali Roots Fest. Great venue with easy accessibility and parking/exiting after event. Bathrooms were very well maintained (per my partner) and porta potties were abundant with hand washing stations. Edit: would like to add-on that all vendors and event staff were awesome!
