This is a very popular campground with access to the beach and harbor. There are multiple restrooms and showers located around the campground. Keep in mind that coastal weather can be somewhat unpredictable or have a large temperature swing.

Def in our top 5 favorite places to camp along the central coast. Beautiful night sounds from the estuary, hiking trails and walking distance to kiyaking and natural history museum. Friendly staff. Trolley that runs during summer to take you into town. Only 5 to 10 mins from grocery store/dollar tree.

We recently visited Morro Bay State Park, and it's a truly unique destination. A helpful tip: if you're following Google Maps, it might tell you you've arrived right after the golf course, but you actually need to drive a bit further into the park to reach the main areas. Compared to other state parks, especially those along the highway, this one truly stands out for its calm waters, making it exceptionally well-suited for kayaking and paddleboarding. It's also a fantastic place to observe geological wonders. The iconic Morro Rock stands majestically in the distance, out in the bay, adding to the picturesque scenery. The park is also great for RV camping. There's a small museum within the park, which is free for children. If you're not planning to stay overnight or camp, about an hour is a good amount of time to explore and enjoy the park's offerings. Overall, Morro Bay State Park offers a peaceful and engaging experience, perfect for those looking to enjoy water activities or simply appreciate the natural beauty and unique landscape.

A very pleasant not too long walk on the trail at Morro Bay State Park today. Easy walk, all flat terrain. Beautiful views of the bay and native birds all along. Plenty of benches to stop and “meditate” if you wish. And of course not to be forgotten the Bayside Cafe with amazing food is right there at the other end of the parking lot.

My husband and I just spent two days camping at Morro Bay State Park and had an absolute blast! This is definitely going to be our new favorite spot. We even had a surprise visit from a raccoon in the middle of the night, so be sure to store your food and belongings safely to keep the critters out.

Beautiful! So many critters so much to see, people were also so respectful of each other and the wildlife.

I really enjoyed playing this course. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The putting green was good and a nice chipping area with plenty of room to move around. The course is beautiful with amazing ocean views on just about every hole. There are some big elevation changes (which I like). I walked the front 9 during sunset and I loved it!! Definitely recommend playing Morro Bay!

Plenty of shorebirds and beauty here. Campground is awesome, well taken care of, easy dump station, plenty of water spigots, fantastic showers and restrooms. Three miles to Morro Rock, 1/2 mile to a full service restaurant and kayak rentals. Pet friendly trails nearby. Generators ok 10am - 8pm though close proximity to neighbors means use with discretion.

Morro Bay Park is such a nice spot! The coastal views are beautiful, and the trails are perfect for a relaxed walk. Great for a quick escape into nature or a picnic with friends. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

We were traveling from Santa Barbara to Carmel-by-the-Sea and stopped to eat at a local restaurant and visit this park. The bay's most prominent landmark is Morro Rock (Climbing this landmark is prohibited). Visit the cities website to read more about the history of Morro Rock. The park is very beautiful but has a DUSTY parking lot during dry summer months😃it also has an area for campers etc. We really enjoyed watching the sea otters. The water is very clear which means undisturbed by humans. I love the natural habitat and the squirrels will come close which means people have been feeding them. They don’t run when you approach them like squirrels in the wild. I love the statues of the family waiting for the sailor husband and father to return. There are also benches for those who can’t stand long or just to sit and watch the scenery. I absolutely enjoyed visiting this park and highly recommend you do the same if in the area.

My husband and I car camped a night at the campground for a weekend getaway and absolutely loved it! Campsites are wide and spacious with lots of lovely views. The walking path at the park is huge! Great place to stay with families.

Went camping here in the spring time at the group sites. Really nice/clean facilities and fire pit. Bring your own soap for the bathrooms. It's right next to a golf course, natural history museum, and the marina. Not very far from Morro Bay stacks and downtown area. Would go again!

I love visiting this gorgeous park. The bay is so flaming and there are lots of beautiful spots. I want to encourage everyone to visit...but then it will be much to busy?! So stay away!
