Absolutely beautiful! The stars at night were breathtaking!! The bathrooms and showers were clean. However I will say the shower was horrible!! The water would not adjust from boiling hot. The campground staff was very nice!!

I've been to a lot of the state parks, and I try to hit any of em on my poppy pass. This park really doesn't offer much. I love morro bay, the park, not so much.

Another one in the books, probably our 6th time here camping ⛺️. We’ve always enjoyed our times here. Although the sites can be a bit cramped compared to other parks locally, we make it work. Don’t know how often they clean the showers or bathrooms but twice a day would be nice. Somewhat Walkable to museum, café across the street, kayak rentals too. Great views.

We have the best time at this park every year. Some of us are in trailers some are in tents. Weather is beautiful and camp hosts are great. Site are always clean. Showers are decent not amazing. They do cost a little but its not anything crazy. The huge trees are super awesome to be around. The museum across the street is super cool and the fishing around morrow bay is almost always a good time.

The check in rangers were do friendly and know their park. The middle field spots are not too private but everyone is respectful. A blue Heron likes to walk around camp. The CCC built stone grills and perhaps the wooden pantry boxes at some sites. Campground also has shaded areas. Some have estuary views. Some are in tall trees. There are pull through RV sites with healthy vegatation around them. Some sites back up to a major golf course. Some are across from a road and a marina! There's an exercise trail near the group camp and a wonderful wooden board walk over the estuary. Don't forget to walk to the amazing Natural history Museum, which is across the street.

This place was really cool. Morrow Bay is very lax and chill. It’s a beautiful little beach town and my favorite part was seeing all of the sea otter mom’s with their babies on their bellies.

Serene dark sand beach cove, with a golf course and history center nearby. I saw a few paddleboarders, and a tour group of kayakers out for a short trip around the bay. That water is too cold for me though. The nearby golf course looks well maintained, and wasn't very busy when we visited.

Our first time camping here and we really enjoyed it. The campsite was nice. The restrooms were clean and showers were open 24/7. There was hot water and cost one dollar for two minutes. We saw the ranger go by the days we were there. Awesome brewerys near by.

This is a very popular campground with access to the beach and harbor. There are multiple restrooms and showers located around the campground. Keep in mind that coastal weather can be somewhat unpredictable or have a large temperature swing.

Def in our top 5 favorite places to camp along the central coast. Beautiful night sounds from the estuary, hiking trails and walking distance to kiyaking and natural history museum. Friendly staff. Trolley that runs during summer to take you into town. Only 5 to 10 mins from grocery store/dollar tree.

We recently visited Morro Bay State Park, and it's a truly unique destination. A helpful tip: if you're following Google Maps, it might tell you you've arrived right after the golf course, but you actually need to drive a bit further into the park to reach the main areas. Compared to other state parks, especially those along the highway, this one truly stands out for its calm waters, making it exceptionally well-suited for kayaking and paddleboarding. It's also a fantastic place to observe geological wonders. The iconic Morro Rock stands majestically in the distance, out in the bay, adding to the picturesque scenery. The park is also great for RV camping. There's a small museum within the park, which is free for children. If you're not planning to stay overnight or camp, about an hour is a good amount of time to explore and enjoy the park's offerings. Overall, Morro Bay State Park offers a peaceful and engaging experience, perfect for those looking to enjoy water activities or simply appreciate the natural beauty and unique landscape.

A very pleasant not too long walk on the trail at Morro Bay State Park today. Easy walk, all flat terrain. Beautiful views of the bay and native birds all along. Plenty of benches to stop and “meditate” if you wish. And of course not to be forgotten the Bayside Cafe with amazing food is right there at the other end of the parking lot.

My husband and I just spent two days camping at Morro Bay State Park and had an absolute blast! This is definitely going to be our new favorite spot. We even had a surprise visit from a raccoon in the middle of the night, so be sure to store your food and belongings safely to keep the critters out.

I've never used the campground. I have however walked through the area and have been told by many campers that they absolutely loved it. You are in located in one of the most beautiful areas in California. Within driving distance of restaurants museums and hiking trails with some of the most beautiful scenery on the central coast.

Beautiful! So many critters so much to see, people were also so respectful of each other and the wildlife.
