We stayed in campsite B on the beach side. Sites are a little small for larger tents. Considering the number of people and the fact that it was Labor Day weekend, I was shocked how quiet it was after 8 pm. Overall the campsite was wonderful. Great beach view. Pick nick tables need replacing. You have to drive to another campground about 20 minutes away for a shower, and dogs aren’t allowed on the beach, so keep that in mind.

Great beach, further from rock you can take your dog off leash early and let them run.. no one minds and no life guards further down .. big ling stretch of beach.

Stayed here for one night on our way down the coast. Beach access and restrooms without showers. You do have access to the showers at the other State Park in town. This place was convenient to a bike trail that took us to the harbor. Hookups worked, no issues.

This is the place to be if you want easy beach access. Walk the path and you're there. It is as close as you can get. If you're in a hotel or Air BnB, you're paying $$ and aren't as close. For the price, okay restrooms, and basically a parking lot - I give it a 5-star because it's cheap and no place is closer. No problems with anyone there. There are fire rings and picnic tables. No showers.  There were TONS of sand dollars everywhere. Before the sun set, there were people up and down the beach watching in silence... Will never forget.

A great beach side state park. Lots of lots. We had one night with full hookups and one night with no power or water. With was fine. The beach, tide pools and tidal creek were really appealing. This place is known for sand dollars which can be collected if they're dead.

Morro Strand Campground is a great spot if you want to camp right next to the beach with easy access to solid surf fishing. Being able to walk straight from your campsite to the sand is a huge plus, and it is an ideal base for fishing, beach walks, and enjoying the coast.

I knocked one star off because the bathrooms are not great and there are no showers, which can be tough if you are staying more than a night or two. Still, for location and beach access alone, it is a very solid campground and one I would happily return to.

The photo is slightly deceiving, because you can't actually see the ocean from the campground because of some small sand dunes. It's easy to get to the beach on the paths, though, and you can hear it.  We've stayed in nicer campgrounds, but being on the beach is really nice. The staff were friendly, bathrooms are decently clean, just aging and needing a little work. All in all, we plan to return. There's a nice dog beach just north, within walking distance. No fire pits at full hookup sites.

So close to the beach. Camp neighbors were polite and neighborly, they had saved some of my food from squirrels and seagulls, so its best to leave it in the car or store in a critter proof container. Has running water and restrooms which is always a plus when camping. Attendant was nice and informative. Had a great time here will continue to visit 😊.

We have a little mom&pop camper van and don't require hookups so we always try to get a spot that backs up to the ocean.  We can usually find one or 2 nights but if you're hoping for a full hookup spot, you'll need to try 6 months in advance.  We've been coming for years and lately it seems nearly impossible to get a week regardless of the time of year.  BUT... if you're lucky enough to get a spot you'll love the campground. There is also a city trolly transit stop just up on the road that'll take you into town for a fun day of shopping.  Not sure how late they run but I know we've used it at dinner time as well.

This was so much fun camping at the beach!! They have picnic benches and a fire pit, we had s'mores and hot dogs!!! The employees are very friendly and are always there when you need a hand or have a question. Will definitely go again!! 😁

Just feet from the beach, this place can’t be beat for ocean access. Some of the spots are a little tight for RVs, and you’re on blacktop, essentially in a parking lot. But if your intent is to be on the beach, it’s perfect. It’s also close to lots of restaurants in Morro Bay. Basically, if you’re not looking for anything rustic, this will do. Locals use it on weekends so it can be a little loud, but a great stop during the week for a couple days or so.
