Extremely well-kept facilities. Beautiful location fulfilling its name with many campsites having views of the valley. Fields attract dozens of Killdeer. Lots of mourning doves goldfinches and other birds as well. The family running the campground is friendly and helpful. It is close to a great rail trail and has easy access to downtown Pittsburgh. Clean and cozy bathhouse with laundry.

What a great campground. The RV sights are nicely sized and seem to be well taken care of. It was quiet at night and we always felt safe. If you can get one of the campsites on the west end, the sunsets are amazing. There is only one shower and, unfortunately it is token operated. Two dollars for 7 minutes.

We are locals and never knew this campground existed. My sister found it so we decided to stay a weekend and check it out. It is mid-November in Pittsburgh so we knew it would either be beautiful fall weather or blistering cold winter weather. Well we got blistering cold! Didn’t stop us from a relaxing weekend. View over the valley is beautiful. Campground is open and easy to see all around so letting kids play outside was fine and we could see them everywhere. Dogs had a great time and lots of walking for them. We booked to come back in the summer during a bluegrass weekend and hope to enjoy this campground even more while it’s warm!

What a treat. I chose this place at random as I was camping through. This area of the country is SPECTACULAR in the fall and Mt Top RV park is delightful. There are a few posts on how great the staff is here, and it's true. The camp host joined me for a campfire and taught me a new song on the guitar- thanks Gary!:) Great facilities - shower, electric, hook ups. Firewood and ice is also available. Reservations online are recommended.

good place to get away and only a few minutes away from pittsburgh. downside is their wifi constantly kicks you out. so if you need wifi forget it do NOT show up at this place. t-mobile doesnt even have any service up there. phone had NO bars.

Were up in the Pittsburgh area for a wedding, and stayed at Mountain Top Campground. Could not have asked for a nicer place to park our coach! The staff (management) were friendly, the views were fantastic!, facilities (bath house and laundry) were very close to our site and the neighbors (at least on one side) were extremely friendly and welcoming. The neighbors on the other side were experiencing severe technical difficulties with their RV and a touch (understandably) grumpy. WiFi signal was free and of decent strength with repeaters arranged around the entire campground for good access. All in all, I can easily give a full and fulsome recommendation for this facility!

This was the closest CG we could find near Pittsburgh. Site 59 was a level pull through site in full sun. Lots of space between sites! Owners were very friendly. FHU with no issues; loved that they provided a splitter so I could hook up the drinking water hose and the tank flush hose at the same time. Good cell and wifi coverage. If we were in the area again we'd choose a back-in site (#s 30s and 40s) to get the view of the surrounding valley. The CG is ringed by trees with nothing but grass in the middle so there was tons of room for kids and dogs to run around. Great value, but would definitely go for the view next time. We didn't use the shower/bathroom but it looked spotless. Note that the shower took tokens at $1 each so it cost $2 to take a shower and it was timed for 7 minutes. Nice laundry room which also took tokens instead of quarters. For two washers and two dryers it cost us $8! The area is hilly with narrow, windy roads with no shoulders which get pretty stressful when pulling a rig.

Stayed here for a fun few fall season days in Pittsburgh. Getting here wasn't easy, but was worth it. Just follow the owner's directions. With traffic, our commute into the city was a solid hour and construction made it even worse a couple times. But this is a very nice campground. Our premium site had a nice view. Water, electricity and sewer hook ups were just right. The site was pretty much level. We would definitely stay here again.

The flat top of a local hill. Many of the newly renovated campsites for RVs and trailers have beautiful views overlooking the lower areas below. Very dog friendly. Limited showers, laundry and toilets. Water, electric and sewer service at the camp site.

Definitely enjoyed our stay here. Read the directions on the website to avoid some tiny roads. Amazing views from our campsite.

I’ve been full-timing in an RV for the last three months (out of New York originally). I came to this area because my daughter was moving into Pittsburgh University and this was the closest place I could find (40 minutes) since I was here to help settle her in. Originally I spoke to Gary, who was incredible. He was so nice and informative and I went with it right away and booked it because of his customer service. When I came here, Gary helped me find my site, helped me back in, etc. It was just a really nice experience with him. As far as the actual park, again, I haven’t full-timed in my RV for long as of yet, but I can say this is the absolute quietest, cleanest, and well-maintained RV park I have been to thus far. They have a laundromat and sell wood and ice as a convenience. Even more importantly, they have GREAT WiFi. Super fast for streaming day or night. This I know for a fact is rare, but they did it. The grounds are very open and free from tree cover. I have StarLink and intended to use that, however I kept it packed away cause it’s not needed…the WiFi is awesome here and free. As I write this review, I’m sitting outside around dinner time, and all I hear is crickets. Although there are many RVs here, it’s so quiet that it’s mind boggling. I highly recommend this RV park…very nice park with very nice employees/owners.

Peaceful and tranquil, this campground is atop a mountain and overlooks the Alleghany valley. Tarentum is really close with a lot of amenities, and Pittsburgh itself just 20 minutes away. You'd never think you're near a city, though, when you're up there. Gorgeous sunsets, hosted by a really dedicated and sweet family who pride themselves in their business.
