Prado Regional Park is a large regional park located in Chino, California. It is part of the Chino Hills State Park and is managed by the San Bernardino County Parks and Recreation Department. The park is situated on the banks of the Santa Ana River and offers a variety of recreational activities, including camping, fishing, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Prado Regional Park

They are still remodeling this park but most amenities are available. It's a beautiful park in the middle of a busy city. Great place to bring the kids to ride bikes and do some fishing.
Rowing non inflatable and electric boats are allowed. Quiet and peaceful park gives the feel of being far from home when you're not.

There is construction as of December 2025. However, the park is still beautiful! Disc golf course is very well taken care of. Fee for entrance to disc golf is $15

Great for fishing, tent and RV camping. RV sites have full hook ups and some of the sites are by the water. Only downfall? Train runs near by through out the day and you can hear it. They also have 4 travel trailers stationed at the canpground so people can rent online incase they don't own one.

Prado is getting a make over. Their facilities to restrooms and campsites are some of the new additions.  It's a great park for the family, picnics, or just to hang out. I really do like Prado.

My grandson wanted to go fishing, so my wife planned a quick trip to Prado Regional Park. We got there early on a Saturday morning. The line was about 10-15 cars already. Check in was fine, even though it was Labor Day weekend.

The park was ok. There were people camping there.  It reminded me of Lake Skinner. The grass was dry and brown, there was gopher holes or holes of some other creatures. We parked and unloaded our stuff. We walked to look for a spot. Since we were early, there was plenty of room. The spot we picked was covered with ants, close to the water. We stayed, because it was probably covered in ants everywhere near the water. We found a small spot with brush blocking the water on each side of us.

I didn’t get a bite all the time I fished. I switched the type of bait, about 4 times, but nothing worked. I ended up catching a duck, because Daffy decided to eat my power bait. I reeled in my line carefully and used a towel to cover Daffy’s eyes. I was able to remove the hook from Daffy’s mouth.

The best part was watching my grandson learn to cast and reel in the bait. I wish there would have been one fish caught, so he could have felt the fight.

We had some finger foods and drinks.

The restrooms were surprisingly clean.

There was a picnic site by our location, so it was easy to wash our hands.

So…
No fish caught.
Dry landscape.
Lake side covered in ants.
Charges $40 to enter, $20 for me, $20 for the car.  Weird.
Daffy ate my bait.
I missed some college football for this.

Fishing was license free today. It is one of two days, that a license was not needed, although I do have an annual fresh and salt water license.

I would have rather been shore fishing at Del Mar Beach in Oceanside. Yea, there is a Del Mar Beach in Oceanside, but on Camp Pendleton.

This place is only ok. I wouldn’t recommend this park for serious fishing. This is why they call the sport “fishing” and not CATCHING.

I recently visited this Park and had a wonderful experience! This park is perfect for a fun day out with family or friends. You can enjoy BBQ, picnics, camping, playgrounds for kids and even water activities like paddle boating, fishing and a beautiful lake view.

Parking is $15 per vehicle

Prado Park is located off the 71 FWY off Euclid. I believe their new prices as of May 2025 are now $10/vehicle on weekdays and $15/vehicle on weekends & special events. $3/pedestrian, $1/dog must be on a 6' leash at all times. They list all fees on their website FYI.

The park is huge! It offers picnic facilities, biking, kid's playground, hiking, fishing, camping, trails, and more. It has a meeting room that seats up to 80 people and can be used for parties, or simply gatherings. I also noticed additional offerings such as an equestrian center, disc golf course, archery and shooting ranges.

Don't expect to see pretty, colorful flowers but the park is nice and clean. Some areas will have gopher holes, watch your step. Staff do their best to keep the park enjoyable, which it is.
Overall, it's always a great, relaxing time at Prado Park.

Awesome Regional park! Has a lot of space, animals, and trees for shade. They are currently developing it and has a great brand new park for kids and toddlers, including a water park.

They allow fishing with a license and have some basic equipment at the entrance.

$8 entrance fee which is very reasonable.

Has a lot of sites for camping as well which I want to come back for a weekend getaway.

I love all the benches scattered around the park with a grill and nearby shade areas so people can lounge around and enjoy the vibes.

I really hope they continue on track and develop the park with more areas for kids, families, and people to come enjoy the nature to get away from the city.

It is a very beautiful Park to Camp at. For the Camping Spot you have to Pre-Reserve and pay for the Spot that you choose. Check In Time is 3 pm and Checking Out Time is 11 am.

We came to check out the new playground. It’s a very fun structure, but I don’t think it’s going to get much use most of the year. It’s only 72 degrees today and already so much of the playground is too hot to play on.
There’s not enough shade.
I don’t understand why they’d design a playground for Southern California and not include more shade sails or even gazebo-style covered picnic areas.
I was hoping this would be a fun place to spend time this summer, but we’ll only be able to use the splash pad (which is fun) and even then we’ll probably have to bring our own day tent.
There’s also not a toilet near the playground. Not sure what they expect you to do when your kid suddenly needs the facilities (and we all know when a kid has to go they HAVE to go!).
Pretty incredible that you can spend nearly $4million on a new playground and not have shade or toilets.

Not sure it’s worth the cost of parking…

This used to be a very nice and green park. However for some strange reason they stopped watering. It was reclaimed water! Now that water just goes to the ocean and all the grass is dead.

If you want to get away from the city or just get out of your house and get a beautiful scenic view. You should come to Prado park. The lake is very nice and it’s very private, you think it’s small just from the street view but if you continue driving farther into the park it’s actually very private it’s a beautiful park. Enjoy your hobbies, like fishing, painting, napping there is plenty of room to have large picnics or I just have a family outing or if you’re solo. What I really like about this park is that you know you’re still in the city but it feels like you’re in the wilderness. Parking is $8 to $12 depending on the day of the week or Holiday.
