Just found this RV park and we will definitely be back soon. We originally had 3 nights booked but added a 4th when we were having such a good time. The location is great 15 mins from Crescent City, 20 mins from Brookings and 10 mins from beautiful Smith River where we spent the most time. The kids loved to play on giant redwood stumps and the playground and there were plenty of room to ride bikes. I was hesitant with some reviews that I read about theft but locked our stuff up at night and did not have or hear of any issues. The bathrooms and showers are dated but it seemed like they were cleaning them several times a day. If kids annoy you I would suggest a site away from the playground as it can be a riot with all the kids later into the night. It’s apparent that the new management as of last month is doing their best.

Campers BEWARE!!! Campground is not safe, we had two coolers with food stolen from our RV. No overnight security nor cameras. Location is right off 101 and there is no control over access, which makes this an easy target for thieves. Management is aware of theft problem yet does not seem to care. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

CAMPERS BEWARE!!! Campground is NOT SECURE, no access gate or control of entry. We camped here and had our coolers (full of food) stolen while we slept. Response from campground staff was not helpful nor sympathetic. If you want a safe place to camp, GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Store was closed at 6:30pm, had to drive back into town to get firewood and ice. Lot was not level. Personnel were rude. Sad staff are on site but do the bare minimum. Also all their big redwoods have been cut down, just stumps. Should have stayed at KOA just down the road.

First time visitor to this campsite. Very easy to find, pulling our 5th wheel threw the site was not a issue. We stayed in site#17(on the back side of the property) it is shaded backs up to the redwoods where trails and a creek, very beautiful! Barley any traffic noise, during the day. At night it is so quite, like nothing, peaceful we slept very well. We had 2 dogs and set up a little fence for them, plenty walking areas for them. Clean grounds, a great area for kids to be on a playground. There our washers/ dryers we did not use them. Brookings is 15mins away, Crescent City in 10mins that's the closet beach, the redwood trails 10 mins also. Great location, priced very well. We will be back.

Our group had a great time staying here. The staff was helpful and worked through the night to make sure our valuable items were safe and secure. They were helpful with places to see and the sites we stayed at were incredible. Very cool place to visit.

Loved this campground as it was located off the main highway while on a cross country road trip. Stayed overnight, late check in was a breeze. Our host came to check up on us to make sure we had all the info needed and any questions we had. Pet friendly, hot showers, flushable toilets, wifi, and a beautiful campground with lots of redwood trees that provide privacy in between lot spaces. Located near the main areas and attractions. Wished we could have enjoyed the campground a few days longer but will definitely keep in mind for my next visit in the near future.

Don’t stay here if you don’t want to get your personal items stolen. The first night we were here, we came in around 11:30pm and by the morning our generator got stolen from our service truck. Apparently theft happens often here according to the day shift staff. We have reasons to believe it was the Rambling Redwoods “security guard” (what a perfect gig for him). Highly do not recommend staying at this property.

Too close to hwy 101 for me as the road noise is constant. You are also by Pelican State Prison so theres that. Once we arrived we were told to secure everything as they have had some theft occurr. Our first night a very loud alarm went off and being next to the prison i was not comfortable. At check in we were told that the alarm is for volunteers with fire and emts, hmmmm. Our site #41 was a pull thru but the site was not very private and the kids in the next site were very loud. This is a great location to go see the Redwoods but i would definitely choose a site on the opposite side of the campground

We had a beautiful RV site tucked among the Redwoods. Even the rain didn't ruin our stay. The staff was very accommodating and the park was conveniently located near everything we wanted to see and do.

We stayed 4 nights in order to visit Redwoods NP. It is a convenient location to both ends of the park and Crescent City. The campground is in need of upgrades. We were in a 36 foot Motorhome towing a Jeep. Our 50 amp pull through FHU site was quite muddy so new gravel is needed. I could only get the 30 amp plug on the pedestal to work. The maintenance guy said they had issues with low voltage so 30 amps was all we could expect. It wasn't an issue given the time of year but would be a concern in hot weather. The bathrooms were very outdated and not very clean so we didn't use them. Laundry had a blockage at first that was repaired and then one machine just ate our coins. This was probably a nice campground at one point. It has lots of shade and a couple of more open sites. It really needs some work and is currently overpriced.

Nice campground. Only reason submitted 4 stars is they put us in site #5 which is jammed in between 2 cabins, you literally can see into cabins windows so close. It is a very “dark” site no light filters in. There were several other sites available they could have put us in. Somewhat disappointed!

RV Sites are nestled in the redwoods, easy to get in and around. About 1/2 the sites are full-time residents. Bathrooms need updating, half the laundry machines were out of order during our visit.

We had an amazing time. The cabin felt a little on the narrow side. But, overall, well worth it. The staff were always reachable during office hours and responsive to our needs.

Absolutely loved this campground! You're camping right next to big ol' redwoods trees! It's such a mystical spot! It was rainy season when we went on our way down the coast and the 101, so it was so peaceful the entire stay. We stayed two nights and wish we could live there. It's close to Crescent City for city amenities, but also super close to the Jedidiah's. The Stout Grove trail is super close which is my favorite of all the Redwoods. Great location for the PNW coast and the Redwoods (Jedidiah's and Prairie Creek). The staff were super friendly and the bathrooms are cozy with hot showers. I loved that they had a heater in the bathroom because it was definitely cold outside. I'll never forget walking back to our RV tucked in between big Redwood Tree stumps and ferns everywhere. If we get the chance to travel back up the 101 ever again, we'll definitely stay here!
