Refugio State Beach

We were there 7 nights. Beautiful beach. It was Presidents’ Day weekend so crazy busy! Very friendly campers and all sorts of games to play! Basketball, football, soccer and of course the gorgeous ocean! Loved it. It did get windy and cold but we just bundled up and had lots of campfires! Unfortunately the surf and boogieing was only good the first day or two. Overall it was amazing!

This Beach needs full hookups. In addition to our RV, we were charged $10 per night for our only veh, which sat in the same spot we already paid for! We were told if we towed it in, no charge. But if we drove it here then there's a charge! please explain... this makes no sense!

Great camping spot. Beautiful beach and well maintained sites. Also best “camp host” I’ve interacted with. Chris was nice and super friendly. Felt like she was a friend at the beach instead of a grumpy authority figure, which I’ve dealt with there. Hope to be back soon

Nice day at the beach. You can camp here, on the main grounds not on the beach itself. There are restrooms, a huge grass play area with a swing set. Dogs are allowed on leash on the main grounds, but not allowed on the beach. Sand was soft and clean and lots of seaweed at tide lines. Rolling waves, great for kids. Felt peaceful.

The bathrooms were not clean, but the campsite was full so I can imagine it would be challenging to keep up with. The parking is not too expensive and it’s super close to the beach from the parking lot. Not a huge beach, but worth it to check out.
