Nice place, well maintained. When we arrived we understood the warning about the yellow jackets.. they are just everywhere. It was all fine until we got to close to a hive which was on the path of one of the hikes. It was painful. I enjoyed the camping and the hike. The kids a bit less after getting stung.

Beautiful, we've only scratched the surface we did the pioneer trail which is absolutely stunning. Funny this trail is rated as easy and my mother-in-law who is in her mid 70s did it. But when I think easy I think anyone should do it. It has some big hills but it's so gorgeous. We had a picnic at one of the benches, there's camping, there's areas to ride bikes. So beautiful.

Great park and surroundings. Epic redwoods. Beaches a drive away. Cabin was cool but there were no mattresses. Other guests commented that years ago the beds had mattresses. Air bed encouraged. Also pack an ice chest and food. Bbq requires cleaning and foil ect. All stores 20-30 minutes away.

One of the prettiest camp grounds I’ve ever been too. The creek absolutely stunning. I saw river otters, ducks, foxes, raccoons, and rabbits

Great for the nature value. Gorgeous views of your willing to go up the mountain. Lots to look at either way. Good lil nooks here and there for photo ops.

Smaller, more compact campground with plenty to see and do, with cute lil towns not too far away. Magical sites, great hikes, and a paved, dog-friendly trail we loved bringing our god-dogs on. Firewood bundles are $10 and huge! Showers had nice hot water too. Really enjoyed meeting Woody, one of the friendly hosts/rangers.

The salmon spawning in December on the Devil’s Gulch trailhead area along the Lagunitas Creek was such a delight! The day we visited, the salmon were very active and we probably saw about 25+ swimming upstream, spawning, and a little bit of feistiness. We were certainly mesmerized to see them in their element. We also, headed up the stairstep falls, such a wonderful place to visit right after the rain! 2nd day of hiking in December from Visitor Center to Leo T Cronin Viewing area via the Cross Marin Trail was enjoyable too. Counted 13 small waterfalls along the way on the trail too.

Wonderful coastal influenced redwood laden park with nice sized creeks running through it. Often low on light, so plan for it to get dark before sunset happens

This is a nice state park. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. When you get into this state park, you can park your car at a picnic area surrounded by redwoods or take your car to a campground. The picnic area is near a creek, and on the other side of the creek are some hiking trails. I went on the Pioneer trail, which was very nice. It went through a forest of giant redwoods and up a mountain. I only saw a group of six in this trail, which was pretty cool. I’m pretty sure this trail is a loop, but I had to get to Point Bonita Lighthouse, so I had to turn around because I didn’t have time to complete it. I gave this state park five stars because it has a lot of cool redwoods and hiking trails.

Beautiful park with well maintained trails and campground. Love to watch for the salmons as they swim upstream to spawn.

An amazing park to visit for a picnic in the redwoods! The drive there and the whole experience was nice. Make sure you set your GPS before your trip getting there, but once you're there, you should have connection again :).

Beautiful redwood groves and hiking convenient to the city. Campsites are nice though all quite close to Sir Francis Drake Blvd so don't expect total silence...

Very nice trail that follow a nearby stream. Pioneer's Trail was nice as well with redwoods. Was only $8 for a day pass, which was well worth it. There was a decent amount of parking available.
