Love this place and everything about it. From the couple who own it, their reasonable prices (and Military discount), to the bath house, the kids play area, the enforced speed limit, fishing pond, big camping areas and the hook ups. I went with my son and a cousins son (age 7 and 8), a friend and her 2 sons (age 3 and 4), and her parents and their dog. They just bought an RV and wanted to test places to leave it permanently....and now we know why this place has a waiting list. My 3, we set up a tent on their RV site. Their pull through sites were very easy for first timers to set up the RV. While us adults did our thing, I put the boys on their bikes to ride the loop. With the speed limit being so strictly enforced and my 2 boys are pretty easy kiddos who know to stop and wait for cars to roll by, they did the loop checking in every time they passed our site. And the play area was less than 100 yards from our site that I felt very comfortable letting them roam and do boy things. Plus the pool was great for a quick cool off. Clean up was a breeze, garbage sites all over the place. And I have to say it was the easiest camping trip I've ever had with the boys. We packed up early Sunday to spend the rest of the day on the beach at the Isle. I almost skipped this place and camped at Saras, boy am I glad we didn't. I'm sure we wouldn't have had the same experience. We will return every chance we can this summer! Oh and only 2 hours from home! Heck yea for weekend getaways! Hope my review helps!

This place has clean, well maintained bathrooms, showers and pool. The owners are really nice and friendly. Sometimes they bring their sweet toy Yorkie on errands which the kids enjoy. We tent camped and there are a variety of tent spots all in one location. Some tree line, some wooded, some in the sun. The owner told me they plan on putting even more tent spots in the woods. I thought it had a really nice tent area. The only improvement would be a shared water pump back in the tent area, but many campground do not have this since you are "roughing it". If you make a reservation in the tent area you are guaranteed a fire ring and table. The owner did say if they ended up fully booked on labor day they still had unofficial spots that just wouldn't have a table and fire ring... It was nice we would have this option in a pinch! We came back later one night and didn't have to worry about gate check in. It's pretty casual there which was nice. As someone who used to RV camp as well it looked like there were many nice spots both wooded, semi wooded and in the grass. It even appears boaters can bring their boats as well and they seem to have an area that people are storing boats off season. There also many nice "permanent" sites and the rules seem pretty lax in the way that you can really make the site your own and even add permanent awning structures, landscaping, fences and decks. The campground is close to many things to do like Erie zoo, Waldameer and presque isle. If I saw one thing missing in the campground it was that they had no structured activities, movies, or festivals, but honestly with so much to do in the area I would not have likely done them anyway. If traveling with kids there was a nice well kept playground and pool. I was told you could do some hiking, but when I saw how much poison ivy was in the woods this year (late summer) we opted not to look into that. You can tell the owners really care about the small details in making your stay enjoyable which is nice. This shows when you talk to them and when you look at all the little details around the campground like the sun roof in the bathroom with nice faucets and two tone paint, the little hooks on the fence at the pool, and the sign on the bathrooms asking the last person or to turn off the lights to keep the bugs out. That's so smart! There were no bugs in the bathroom because of it. The owners even drive or firewood back for us because or van was full at check in. There were also no mosquitos on our site. We never even used bug spray. I'm not sure if they spray for them or if this was a coincidence. Since I got all bit up at Waldameer just 20 minutes away, I assume they might spray. Overall really nice place that is well kept with really nice owners.

Stayed here from 8-20 till 8-22. great campground. owners are very nice and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. we were in a W/E site in the back and it was very level and easy to back into with the camper. sites are a great size. nice little playground for the kids and a pool that goes from 3ft to 9ft deep. they also have a stocked pond. would go back in a heart beat. it is about 15 mins from Presque isle and 6 mins from splash lagoon

My fiancé and I showed up around 6pm (we called around 4) and the owner/manager Jodie was extremely friendly! She got us in to a nice tent spot where we were set up with flat ground and a fire ring, it was just what we needed! We weren't far from the bathouse/restroom which was nice (less than 2 minute walk) and the bathroom/shower area was very clean and we'll kept. We evenison witnessed a janitor scrubbing well. The bathroom us updated and clean. The pool looked excellent but we didn't have the time to swim, and the pond attracted a lot of fishing tenants. Also a nice playgroundof you have kids with you. They sell firewood bundles and bags of ice. Would stay again!

We were told they had a "very nice, shady primitive spot" that we would love. We get there and find out that the "spot" is a patch of grass in the owner's back yard. Out view the entire week was of the back of their house. We didn't even have a picnic table.... The owners were very nice. The bathrooms were very clean. The actual camp spot was horrible.

This place was a great stay. We rented an RV, it was very clean and functional. The owners were the nicest I have ever met. We felt welcomed from the time we pulled in, and were sad to leave. My kids loved the playground and fish pond. They must have caught over 50 fish during our stay. Everyone was very nice including out neighbors at the seasonal sites. The location seems to be perfect! Right in the middle near all the attractions. We will definitely be going back.

My family and I absolutely LOVE IT HERE! They have NICE, CLEAN, SPACIOUS bathrooms and shower facilities. The owners, Don and Jodie are very friendly and welcoming. We have met many other campers and made A LOT of friends. My kids enjoy coming and "hanging out" with the friends they have met and they look forward to coming back every year. Campground is only minutes from local attractions; Splash Lagoon, Waldameer Park, Lake Erie, The Mall, and of course Elk Creek, and Walnut Creek.
