White River Difficult Aspen Co is a challenging mountain biking trail located in the White River National Forest near Aspen, Colorado. The trail is a mix of technical single track and double track, with some sections of steep, rocky terrain. The trail is approximately 8 miles long and has an elevation gain of 1,500 feet. The trail is best suited for experienced mountain bikers, as it can be quite difficult and technical in some sections. Difficult Campground: RV Camping in Aspen, CO

Wonderful stay. It was only one night, but great site and clean rest rooms.  I ran into a little snafu leaving.... got my minivan stuck (my dumb move!).  Camp host was very helpful!!!!

Difficult Campground is a really nice spot overall with a great natural setting and well-maintained sites. Everything was in good condition and it’s a peaceful place to stay surrounded by nature.

The only real downside is the complete lack of cell service, which can be inconvenient if you need to stay connected or check plans. Otherwise, it’s a solid campground in a beautiful area and a good base for exploring around Aspen.

This campground is clean, convenient, and was as expected. The day use area is also a little retreat from the busy city of Aspen. Nothing noteworthy and the hosts seemed to manage everything well. Price is steep but it is 10 min from Aspen.

The sites are narrow but not difficult to access. The road is smooth. Hosts are friendly and helpful. No electricity. No water at the site.

We enjoyed an incredible stay at Difficult Campground in August. The sites were amazing, facilities were well kept, and the camp hosts were so kind and helpful. Rebecca in particular went out of her way to make sure we were set up for our visit, and had a lot of great information to share. We will definitely be back!

Great campground close to Aspen and Independence Pass. Wonderful camp hosts, Rebecca and Lauren were a great help, and if we needed anything, they were always around and very friendly and professional. More camp hosts should be like them, they are the best we've come across. We will definitely be back.

Yall banned tents cause a kid got scratched after having FOOD in tent ????? If they got scratched and had food im tent i would say thats their fault and thought ypur supppsed to be fined for not storeing food properly and then banned frpm site. Letting a few ignorant careless people ruin it for everyome else , these campaites are suppposed to be tent froendly there are tons of rv parks abd campsitws qhere u cant tent camp now your taking another cause of peoples carelessness ,Lets see if u get a new contract.

Great campground located about 4 miles from Aspen, surrounded by forests and mountains. Most sites have nice privacy and shade. Amenities include pit toilets, trash and water. Arrived back to camp at night one night and saw a moose right outside the campground. Beautiful spot, very peaceful, would recommend.

Convenient location near Aspen. Good tent sites. Easy to find. Motorcycle friendly parking.
For the price though, no showers and water tap out of order kind of sucked.

We enjoyed our stay here! The drop toilets were well maintained. It was funny: they didn’t smell in the actual bathroom, but walking up they did. The camp sites were very private, the river running through made for a pleasant experience. The sites were a bit small for our larger group, even though we had 2 sites for 9 people. No service at the sites which was nice. Good size bear boxes. Camp hosts were very nice. Be sure to bring cash if you need to buy wood there! Conveniently located close to Aspen, but there weren’t any hikes we did straight from the campground.

Bigger sites with more flat area to put up tents would’ve made us give it 5 stars for a campground. We would not have been able to fit 10 people per site (as the reservation said)

Quite, a lot of privacy good all around place to camp

Love this campground. Absolutely beautiful and very very quiet. Wildlife abound! Bear, moose, sheep. No showers though, thus -1 star.  Highly recommended all.
