I have stayed here numerous times over the last 30 years. I came here every summer with a church group in my teens and when I got my RV a few years ago I stayed here for a few days on two different occasions. I now live here long term in my RV and I love it here. Marc and Dawn are great owners and really take great care of the place. It is beautiful and peaceful here and the amenities are wonderful. I highly recommend this place for both tent and RV camping, as well as both short and long term.

Terrible camping experience. The owner handled complaints poorly and seemed more interested in finding problems than resolving them. We noticed multiple Latino families receiving complaints as well, which made us feel unfairly targeted. Advertised as dog-friendly, yet we were told our dogs couldn’t be leashed at our campsite and later received a complaint because they barked. People appear to be living there full-time, with cluttered sites and vehicles being worked on regularly. The pond had no fish, despite what we expected. Not a relaxing or family-friendly campground. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Very disappointing camping experience. Management was quick to complain but not interested in being reasonable or helpful. We observed several Latino families, including ours, receiving repeated complaints, which left us feeling unfairly targeted. The campground advertises itself as dog-friendly, but we were told our dogs couldn’t be leashed at our campsite and later received another complaint because they barked. Many sites appeared to be occupied by long-term residents, with clutter and vehicles being repaired throughout the campground. The pond was disappointing and did not have fish as we expected. Not the peaceful, family-friendly camping trip we were hoping for. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this campground.

TERRIBLE PALCE TO CAMP! Racism towards Mexicans was ridiculous I didn’t want to take It this far but as we were packing out there was 4 other ONLY LATINO families that were also getting complaints RACISM I THINK YES! 10 complaints within 12 hours This was our campsite and we were told we had to “Clean up” because it was dirty” Traveling with 4 children and ONE paper plate was on the floor was “DIRTY” We chose this place because it was also dog friendly We were not allowed to have our dogs on a leash tied to a tree Went to the pool and we got another complaint because “ the dogs were barking at the people that passed by” ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? THEYRE dogs! On top they have people living there that have disgusting hoarding issues, are constantly doing mechanic work on their cars, the pond has NO FISH If you want to literally park and lock yourself in your RV this will be great for you but if you want to have family bonding time DO NOT COME HERE! There’s a reason why they ALWAYS have availability.

Our experience at this campground was extremely disappointing. What concerned us most was what felt like discriminatory treatment toward Latino families. During our stay, we noticed that four other Latino families were also receiving complaints from management. Based on what we observed and experienced, it was difficult not to question whether we were being treated differently. Within approximately 12 hours, we received around 10 complaints. One of those complaints was that our campsite was “dirty.” We were traveling with four children, and at the time there was only a single paper plate on the ground while we were actively packing up. Calling the site “dirty” felt unreasonable and excessive. We specifically chose this campground because it advertised itself as dog-friendly. However, we were told our dogs could not be tied to a tree while on a leash. Later, while we were at the pool, we received another complaint because our dogs barked at people walking by. Dogs naturally bark from time to time, and the constant complaints made us feel unwelcome. In addition, there were long-term residents with visible hoarding conditions and ongoing vehicle repair work taking place throughout the campground, yet those issues appeared to receive far less attention than our campsite. We were also disappointed to find that the pond had no fish, despite our expectations. Overall, this campground felt overly restrictive and unwelcoming. If you’re looking for a place where your family can relax, spend time together, and enjoy camping, I would not recommend staying here. Our experience left us feeling uncomfortable, unfairly scrutinized, and disappointed.

This is that campground that will take you back to all your magical memories camping as a kid. Except the facilities are REALLY CLEAN! You can tell that Mark and Dawn and the rest of the team really care about your camping experience. Service plus plus !

Family campground for RVs and tents. Water and electric, dump station, small store and dump service for a small fee. Very clean and quiet. Beautiful place in the oaks and pines. Ducks, petting zoo and picnic area.

Awesome place, camped with a group, went to Bates Nut Farm, did catch and release fishing, and visited the general store. All was great. Highly recommend 👌

Evicted then banned me in 2019 because of my disability for which I was actively having treatment in spite of the fact that I was able to pay. I'm still disabled. Only much more so

This place was AWESOME. It was raining and they were gracious enough to leave the common room open for us. We were able to sit by the fire and enjoy the evening together. Everyone there was super nice and attentive. Will definitely go back.

Quiet and pretty park tucked back in the trees. We had a reservation ahead of time, and the day of our arrival, the office moved us one spot over because of muddy conditions. It was appreciated, and indeed very muddy. I was a little nervous about the campground not being paved, with how heavy our RV is, but it was no issue. The campground has some tight areas, and as such, big rigs like ours are suited for spots right up front. It worked for us, as we arrived after the office closed, and departed before the office opened. Our site shared an electrical pedestal with the site next to it, and was on the passenger side (camp side) of the site. Our cord was not long enough to make it to the driver side, so we had to pull in forwards to the site. The office was gracious to let us in even though we probably were too big for most of the park!

The speed limit is 5 mph. I was literally doing 7 mph and the management followed me to where I was going and threatened to not let me back on the property. A little extreme if you ask me. First off I had never previously been warned. The reason for the review is because the way the issue was approached was completely unnecessary. The dust for me doing 2 miles an hour over the speed limit was minimal however when pulling in to where I was going there became an exceptionally larger amount of it due to the RC car that was being diriven, which caused the assumption that I was going faster than I stated. I told him how fast I was going acknowledge the speed limit being 5 mph and agreed to pay closer attention and comply with it. He became upset still even though I was responding because I was not looking at him directly when he was speaking to me and carried onto assume that I didn't care what he was saying because I wasn't looking at him in which case I explained I was not staring at him while he was talking to me because he was standing where the sun was glaring in my eyes. I was visiting someone how do I not belong there? According to you I had been previously warned at the time that this issue came about yet this is the first time it has been brought to my attention that I need to register at the office to be on the property. Don't you think that's something that you inform someone of when you speak to them? The consequences that apply to a state park have nothing to do with the situation because it's not a state park, what's your point?

Even though we live just 15 minutes away, we recently spent a holiday weekend camping here with friends, just to get out of the city for a short break. We had a camper, and our friends brought their tents. It was our first time camping here, and everyone in our group (4 adults, 5 kids, 3 dogs) enjoyed the campground. Despite our party being split with a camper and a tent, the staff was able to put us in two spots pretty near each other, right by restrooms, which turned out very convenient for those who needed to get up in the night. We were able to wander back and forth between our two sites easily. The restroom facilities were very clean, and in fact the whole campground was clean and tidy. They came by twice a day to empty the trashcans. Our RV spot had a red ant hill when we arrived, and when we asked if there was any way it could be treated, they came out within 30 minutes to spray. We didn't spot any other wildlife around that was a bother (no rodents) other than wasps, but it's their natural season to be out and they just liked the smell of our food apparently. Once we cleaned up from meals, they went away, and no one was stung or bothered much. Our kids enjoyed using the pool and it was kept very clean. We also brought their bikes, and they had a great time just riding around the grounds. We don't live in an area with sidewalks, so they love it when they get to just ride wild and free (respectful of other campers, of course.) There were other kids in the camp who they got to socialize with as well. We brought small dogs with us, and the whole campground seemed very dog friendly. There were plenty of waste stations around the grounds to grab bags if we needed them and dispose of their waste. The store was equipped with firewood, ice, and plenty of other supplies. The staff was friendly. The other campers were friendly. We had to borrow a can opener from one kind neighbor, and another even stopped by and played my husband's guitar and sang a couple of songs for us. We will definitely consider Woods Valley again for an easy weekend getaway from Escondido/San Diego. Just far enough away from home to feel like you don't have to deal with household stuff for a few days, but close enough we could run back if we forgot something.
