Moonshine Acres RV Park

We just purchased our camper and wanted to test it with our two dogs. We found Moonshine Acres and decided to give it a try. We stayed on site #43. It’s close to the road, so yes you hear the road noise. Did it bother us, no. Only problem with this site, #43, is that it is nothing but sand, so we tracked it all the time. It was nice and shady, but sandy. The bathroom/showers were awesome! We like that you have your own bathroom and shower area and they are very clean! The campground is close to Ichetucknee Spring, which we went to hike with the dogs. We also went to O’Leno State Park, which wasn’t too far for some more hiking. We will definitely be coming back, but stay in a different spot.

My wife and I booked our February trip here back in July 2023. As the week approached we realized that we would not be able to make the trip. I called on a Tuesday about our Friday cancelation. The lady informed me that because we had booked a holiday weekend the cancelation policy was 30 days notice, which we were obviously passed. I asked if we could possibly reschedule for a later date. She said that would be fine. Great! She called me back on Friday afternoon and asked why I hadn't called back with new dates. I told her that we had not had a chance to look at the calendar to find a good date yet. She said that she told me on Tuesday that I had until Friday morning to give her new dates or I would have to forfeit my fees. $200+. I HONESTLY do not remember her giving me that deadline!! I asked for a few more days to decide, but she said she had already been nice enough to give me the time she did and that I would be canceled. I asked again and she flat refused me! I got very upset and said "fine, cancel it"!! She said no problem, and then called me an a**hole as she hung up the phone. Totally totally unprofessional!! I will never stay here now! Why would she be unprofessional AND........still keep my $200+ . Disgusting. This person has no business dealing with customers. Steer clear of this place. There are plenty more options in the area.

Nice RV park, the better sites are further from the road, mostly level and have small stone areas for rvs. The sites closer to the road are grass sites, less level, more noise. There's a clubhouse and a large patio. There's a nice pathway across the road for bike riding. A park with a spring 2 miles north . No pool, shuffleboard or pickleball. It's our second time here.

Just stayed in site #55 for the weekend. We liked the site due to the fact that it is an end spot and you face a forest of planted pines. However, based on personal preference, I can't give 5 stars due to the campground sitting directly on a busy highway. The road noise takes away from a peaceful evening of sitting by the campfire. Other than that, I only have positive things to say.

This place is great for a weekend or a longer stay. I didn't feel like I was in Florida. The location is adjacent to multiple state parks and preserves, along with multiple small towns with great downtown areas. The owners and employees are great constantly putting on special events at the park. My stay was very peaceful and no one bothered me. There is a little road noise but it wasn't a problem. Will definitely return.

Great RV park! They have bathrooms and showers if you don’t wanna use your rv. They have a game room with a pool table and ping pong table. Great staff, very friendly and welcoming. I would for sure stay there again.

My family LOVED the glamping experience! We were close to multiple Springs in the area and we were able to spend a day floating and swimming in Itchetucknee and Gilchrist Blue. Had a great summer get a way! Great amenities. We played the longest game of pool ever and enjoyed Karaoke night. Tents were clean and beds were comfy. The people here were so nice. NEver had to wait for a bathroom, however I think only 3 of the 6 tents were occupied which was also nice. Enjoyed use of the grill and the fire pit.

Very nice, clean campground! Great facilities…including recreation room, bathrooms, laundry, roomy sites. We camp here when our boys have ball tournaments in Ft. White and Lake City. They love the recreation room. We would give five stars if had a pool. Campground is in very close proximity and perfect if have time to experience Ichetucknee, but a pool would make it a destination campground! The only other recommendation would be offering of more shady sites. We loved the shady site we recently were able to lock in and wish there were more like it. All in all, we highly recommend this campground!

We went glamping here at the Moonshine Acres Park. Mostly this is an RV Park with an awesome club house and outdoor area. They have 6 glamping tents and we had tent #1. I believe they are each a little different but all have AC, comfortable sleeping and a fridge. On our porch we had two rocking chairs and a table which seats 4. Our tent came with a grill. There are 2 bathrooms close to the tents and 4 over by the club house which is just a short walk. Bathrooms are clean. The bathrooms by the tents are having AC installed, and I hope they will replace the rusty mirrors but I see they are doing some work and have a vision, so it's good - still worked for us. ||Camping in July in Florida?! While we stayed for 3 nights we visited Ichetucknee Springs one day where we hiked a little and floated a lot. We visited Gilchrist Blue Springs for a day where we floated and also rented some kayaks to go explore the Santa Fe River a bit. We made some wonderful family memories and YES it's too hot to sleep without AC outside at this time of year but it was perfect with the two portable ac's going and during the heat of the day we were in the springs keeping cool. ||This was a bucket list long weekend for me.|They do have a 3 night minimum (or did when I booked) but also had 3 empty tents while we were there. I had some friends who were willing to come but only for 1 or 2 nights and wouldn't commit to the 3 nights. I do think especially during the summer months they should lift this requirement as it's better to have people than not. But also, I never had to wait for a bathroom, the peace and quiet was great - and the neighbors who did come were friendly. We all looked at each other's tents and sat by the community fire pit at night.|I had wifi and was able to get some work done remotely.||I love the big water slide and play ground they set up. My family had a blast. They have games and pool, and even karaoke. Definitely a great place to stay, the people who work here are very helpful and kind. I have a travel blog with more details of the entire glamping trip and lots of ideas for how to enjoy your time in this area (and others). It is linked to my bio.

Excellent place to camp! The staff was so friendly and kind! The facilities were excellent, always clean! Loved the comfy chairs next to the playground, so this Momma could be comfy while my little one played. Will definitely be back again!

My family of 4 enjoyed staying in one of the glamping tents. Very nice owners/workers who helped with check in & purchasing firewood on site. The tent was spacious & clean, with a queen bed, bunk bed, futon, a small fridge, and a nice sized covered porch with a table and rocking chairs. The AC kept the tent tolerable during the day and cold at night. We were provided a charcoal grill, a larger communal smoker, and communal fire pit with Adirondack chairs. The bathrooms were very clean and water temp was great. The kids enjoyed playing gaga ball, corn hole, playing in the game room, and riding bikes. We spent our days tubing & swimming the Ichetucknee (5 min away), kayaking the Sante Fe hitting 8 springs along the way (highly recommend Rum138 for kayak rental & shuttle, 8 min away), and snorkeling at Devils Den (45 min away). A wonderful Florida springs vacation!

This was a gem. We were traveling south and needed a one night stop. This park had so many things for kids: gaga ball, a small playground, cornhole, two video game machines, pool table , ping pong ball and easy roads to bike ride. We had site 29 right across from the clubhouse. It was the nicest clubhouse we have encountered in the 3 years of rv travel. They were having karaoke Saturday night. The bathrooms are all family style and so nice! We traveled in May the ac was great and plenty of hot water for 2 showers in a row. The staff was so kind. We got some shirts and stickers in the camp store. We want to come back when we have time.

Stayed from Dec to April. Very nice, quiet, and well kept park. The spaces are good size, and the staff, as well as the maintenance staff were friendly. The bike trail across the street is about 30 miles long running from Oleno State park all the to Branford. Can take your golf cart into Fort White on the paved path. Nice convenience store, the lodge was spacious and nice, and the shower/bathroom facilities are updated and clean. They stay on top of keeping the facilities clean. Cappy and Tina in the office are great. Good people all the way around. I would stay there again.
